Compounded Medications for Pets with Chronic Conditions

Pets with diabetes, thyroid disorders, or heart disease rely on consistent dosing to remain stable and healthy.

When medications are hard to administer, compliance can suffer. Compounded options, like flavoured liquids or customized strengths, may make daily medication routines easier for both pets and their owners.

Personalized formulations can support long-term care and potentially improve consistency for chronic conditions. 🐾

Supporting Women’s Digestive Health

Hormonal changes, stress, and busy lifestyles can all influence gut health in women.

Probiotics, prebiotics, digestive enzymes, and targeted nutrients may help support digestive balance when combined with healthy habits like fiber-rich foods, hydration, and stress management.

Digestive health is not one-size-fits-all, and personalized guidance can help you choose the right approach for your goals.
Ask our pharmacist about supplement options that may be helpful to support digestive health.

Multiple Sclerosis & Personalized Compounding

Multiple sclerosis (MS) can cause fatigue, numbness, balance concerns, and other challenging symptoms. While disease-modifying therapies remain central to treatment, some patients and providers explore additional supportive options as part of a comprehensive plan.

One option that may be discussed is low-dose naltrexone (LDN), which is prepared by a compounding pharmacy to achieve customized low-dose strengths. Compounding can also offer flexible dosing and alternative dosage forms to better fit individual needs.

Every MS journey is different. Personalized care and open conversations with your healthcare team can help support a thoughtful, individualized approach.

Vitiligo Treatment Options

Vitiligo is a chronic autoimmune condition that causes areas of skin to lose pigment. While not physically harmful, it can have an emotional impact.

Research continues to explore targeted therapies, including topical options that address immune pathways involved in pigment loss. When prescribed by a dermatologist, compounded medications can offer customized strengths or bases to better fit individual needs.

Personalized care matters, and collaboration between patients, providers, and pharmacists plays an important role.

FDA Removes Black Box Warning from Estrogen

In 2025, the FDA removed the long-standing black box warning from certain estrogen products used in menopausal hormone therapy.

This change reflects evolving research and a more nuanced understanding of risk, especially for low-dose and localized estrogen therapies. It does not mean hormone therapy is right for everyone, but it does encourage more individualized, informed conversations between patients and providers.

If you have questions about menopause, hormone therapy, or your options, we’re here to help guide the discussion.

Your body already has a built-in detox system, and the liver does most of the work.

Detoxification happens in phases: first, the liver transforms toxins from things like medications, alcohol, caffeine, and environmental exposures. Then it neutralizes and prepares them for elimination.

Here’s what many people don’t realize: this process depends heavily on protein. Amino acids, the building blocks of protein, are essential for key detox pathways, including the production of glutathione, one of the body’s most important antioxidants. Without enough protein, these pathways may not function as efficiently.

During structured detox programs, protein needs are often higher than the minimum daily recommendation. Prioritizing quality protein sources, whether from whole foods or targeted supplements, helps provide the amino acids the body relies on to support detox and antioxidant balance.

Detox isn’t about extreme cleanses. It’s about nourishing your body so it can do what it was designed to do.

Managing Nausea & Vomiting in Children

When your child isn’t feeling well, symptoms like nausea and vomiting can be especially distressing. In certain situations, a healthcare provider may prescribe promethazine to help manage these symptoms.

Promethazine is an antihistamine that can help reduce nausea and vomiting when used under medical supervision. Because dosing in children must be carefully determined based on age and weight, it’s important that this medication is only used exactly as prescribed.

Our compounding pharmacy prepares a customized formulation to help make administration easier. Always speak with your child’s healthcare provider about appropriate treatment options.

Feeling “off” lately? Teary for no reason, more irritable than usual, exhausted even after rest, and suddenly the small stuff feels huge? If this doesn’t feel like you, it’s worth paying attention, especially if you’re in your late 30s to 50s.

Here’s something many women aren’t told: the perimenopause years can increase the risk of depression and anxiety, and mood changes can be tied to fluctuating hormones. Estrogen, progesterone, DHEA (and even thyroid hormones and cortisol) all play roles in how the brain regulates mood, sleep, and stress response. And because perimenopause and depression share so many overlapping symptoms (sleep disruption, brain fog, mood shifts, low energy), it can be easy to miss the hormonal piece.

If you suspect perimenopause may be contributing, you deserve a deeper conversation. Consider asking your provider about a more complete wellness workup that includes hormone testing.

For some women, customized hormone therapy may be part of an individualized care plan to support more stable hormone levels during this transition.

Feeling off balance? Hormones play a major role in energy, mood, muscle strength, libido, and overall well-being, especially for men as they age.

Customized hormone therapy can be an option for men experiencing symptoms such as low energy, decreased libido, mood changes, or reduced muscle tone. Every body is different, and a one-size-fits-all approach doesn’t always work. That’s where personalized hormone care comes in.

At our compounding pharmacy, we work with prescribers to create hormone formulations tailored to each individual’s needs, adjusting dose, delivery form, and combinations when appropriate under medical supervision.

If you’re curious whether customized hormone therapy may be right for you, talk with your healthcare provider. Personalized care can support your health goals and help you feel more like yourself again. 💪

We prepare customized formulations such as:
✔️ Wound care compounds designed to support healing and help reduce infection risk — especially important for patients managing diabetic foot ulcers.
✔️ Compounded anti-inflammatory medications tailored to help reduce swelling and improve comfort.
✔️ Targeted antifungal therapies for stubborn infections like athlete’s foot.
✔️ Non-opioid pain options, including customized Low-Dose Naltrexone (LDN), when appropriate as part of a comprehensive care plan.

Hair loss can be discouraging — and it happens for many reasons. Hormonal changes, thyroid conditions, stress, medications, postpartum shifts, and androgenetic alopecia (male or female pattern hair loss) are just a few common causes. For both men and women, thinning hair can affect confidence and self-image.

The good news? Treatment isn’t one-size-fits-all.

Our compounding pharmacy works with prescribers to create customized hair loss formulations tailored to your specific needs. Instead of relying solely on over-the-counter products, compounded treatments can combine recognized active ingredients.

Compounding also allows for flexible delivery options, including topical solutions, foams, scalp lotions, and medicated shampoos, designed for easier application and improved comfort. For patients experiencing hormone-related hair thinning, customized hormone formulations may also be considered as part of a broader care plan.

Because hair loss affects millions of men and women, having personalized options matters. If you’re noticing thinning or increased shedding, talk with your healthcare provider about whether a customized compounded treatment may be appropriate for you.
