When I see so many posts about people’s stash of essential oils, it gets me wondering. What if people are saving them because they think they don't know how to use them?

Well, it’s as simple as opening the bottle. Breathe them in, diffuse them, or apply them! They will do what they do without you even needing to know the what, the how or the why.

Here's an easy way to start making the switch to a toxin-free home!

DIY FOAMING HANDSOAP

In an empty foaming bottle:
2-3 tbsp of Castile Soap • 1/2 tsp V6 Oil ( you can use Almond oil, Coconut Oil or Veg Glycerin) • 5-10 drops of Thieves (or oils of your choice) • Fill with water 💦

Sometimes, you just need a spray top.

Peppermint - fresh breath, on the go! This was a mostly-empty bottle I filled with water, and it’s the PERFECT replacement for those iffy ingredients in conventional gums/mints.

Lemongrass - spritz those wool dryer balls for the most delicious-smelling laundry. Don’t have those yet? No worries - just use a clean washcloth!

KidScents Owie - for addressing those cuts & scrapes in a more sanitary manner.

Citronella - for those pesky bugs. Nuff said.

🥰🌿7 ways to use PanAway! PanAway is a very versatile blend! When applied topically, PanAway creates a cooling sensation that is very stimulating. Methyl salicylate is one of the constituents found in Wintergreen, and it is also a commonly used ingredient in many typical sports creams. Instead of getting it synthetically created in a lab, it occurs naturally in Wintergreen essential oil!

So, how can you use it?!

1. PanAway is great to use after a workout or busy day. Combine with V-6™ Vegetable Oil Complex and apply it to sore muscles or on an aching back when needed.
2. Apply it to your neck and shoulders in the morning with V-6 Vegetable Oil Complex for an uplifting, refreshing aroma.
3. Apply it to the bottoms of your feet for a relaxing foot massage after a long day.

Burning candles may leave your home smelling nice, but they are a huge contributor to toxic indoor air quality and can be harmful to your health.

Fragrances added to candles can contain a mixture of hundreds of chemicals and are known to emit harmful volatile organic compounds (VOCs).

Research shows that some VOCs can irritate your eyes, nose and throat; create difficulty breathing; and cause harm to the central nervous system and other organs.

In addition to VOCs, most commercial candles are made with paraffin wax, a petroleum product that’s a byproduct of oil refining. When paraffin candles are burned, they can release benzene, toluene, formaldehyde, acetaldehyde, acrolein, and black soot into the air!

Instead of emitting harsh toxins in your home and making your air quality worse, try diffusing these essential oil blends. Not only do they smell amazing, help purify the air, and get rid of unwanted odors, they may even remind you of your favorite candle scents!

This activity is a weekend win with the kids. Go out and gather some pine cones; make sure they're clean before laying on a foil lined baking sheet. Bake at 200º F in the oven for about 30 minutes. Wait for them to cool and transfer to a gallon zip-top bag. Add about 30 drops of your favorite essential oils and leave bag sealed for 1-2 weeks. The longer you wait, the stronger the smell. Place out just in time for your holiday celebrations.
