Partners in the community make all the difference. This week our playground initiative was the charity of choice for the Saskatoon International Airport Fire Department and Pro-Tec Fire Services charity BBQ. It was an amazing turnout and we were so encouraged! $3690 was raised! Thank you!!

On it!!!

The application period for the School Playground Equipment Grant program is now open.

With a $3.75M annual investment over the next four years, this program will support the creation of safe, accessible playgrounds on school property throughout Saskatchewan.

Eligible projects can receive up to $50,000 in matching funds, available on a first-come, first-served basis and will be administered in partnership with the Saskatchewan Parks and Recreation Association (SPRA).

The online grant application and supporting guidelines will be available through the SPRA Online Grant Platform at https://www.spra.sk.ca/funding/spra-grants/.

Today we were honoured to be joined by Synergy Credit Union and selected as recipients for $30,000 towards our wheelchair accessible playground!! Students from grades K-8 joined in the gym and many ooohs and ahhhs were heard as we showed a rendering of an accessinle playground, so that children of all abilities can participate in play. We are so grateful for this partnership!

We are continuing to raise funds for our wheelchair accessible playground, so that we can transform our community. By creating accessible spaces, we allow all people to be included, nurturing friendships, emotional development, physical and mental wellness, and lots of fun! As we prepare for the school year, the playground remains inaccessible, and we are on a mission to change that! Together we can help make inclusive and accessible communities. Stay tuned for lots of upcoming events, announcements, and fundraisers!! Saskatchewan Blue Cross we are nominating this project for your Community Empowerment funding!!

Place your bid on Winnipeg Jets tickets! The high bud currently is $550. All funds go towards our accessible playground fundraising efforts, so that children of all abilities can participate in play! We have a sweet little kindergartener starting in 2 weeks who is in a wheelchair. Currently she will not be able to participate in anything at recess as the playground is sand and not accessible. Let’s help change this, and create social, physical and inclusive opportunities!

WINNIPEG JETS TICKETS!! We have 2 tickets to a NHL game in Winnipeg up for auction, thanks to -R-Us!

We are going to do an auction for these tickets, highest bidder gets the tickets! Once a winner is declared, they will get to select game dates from a select number of dates (pending availability). You can comment on the post or direct message us with your bids. We will periodically post the amount of the highest current bid!

All proceeds go towards our accessible playground at St. Anne School in Saskatoon!

Deadline for bids is August 24th at 8pm!

Thank you to Mano’s Restaurant in Saskatoon for their donation to our playground project! Together we will make this project a reality step by step.

We are currently looking for donations and raffle items for our Fall Bingo and Raffle Night on October 17th. If you are a business owner and have an raffle item you could donate or would like to make a cash gift towards this fundraising night, please let us know!

Another shoutout to Sandbox Mutual Insurance for their donation towards the St. Anne School wheelchair accessible playground! We were able to do a little presentation with some students joining in. St. Anne School is an inquiry based school, where questioning and hands on learning are highlighted. Creating accessibility will allow more children to participate, and also model that accessibility matters.
