2SLGBTQIA+ History Month

Our history is more than just stories — it’s a powerful reminder of resilience, courage, and progress. By honoring the past, we gain the strength and wisdom to face the challenges ahead. Together, we celebrate every identity, every voice, and every journey that has paved the way for a more inclusive future.
Let’s learn, remember, and keep moving forward — because our history helps us endure all the future challenges ahead of us! 🇨🇦

Today at HARP, we honour the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

We pause to reflect on the painful legacy of residential schools and stand in solidarity with Indigenous communities. This day is a time for learning, listening, and committing to meaningful reconciliation — not just today, but every day.

We wear orange to remember.
We reflect to honour.
We act to support truth and healing.

Today is National HIV/AIDS and Aging Awareness Day

Yes, you can have HIV and still be SEXY in your later years. Age doesn’t stop the glow and neither does HIV.

💥 SMASH the stigma.

People living with HIV can live long, full, and healthy lives — and with proper treatment, they can’t pass on the virus (U=U).

Let’s celebrate life, love, and longevity.

Pigs Can Fly Day reminds us that even the impossible can happen — just like a world where people living with HIV can live free from stigma and discrimination.

Let’s soar beyond myths and fear.

Understanding and educating yourself about U=U (Undetectable = Untransmittable) is a powerful way to combat this stigma.

Everyone deserves respect, love, and equal rights. Together, we can make the impossible possible.

Join Us for the 2025 AIDS Vigil in Sault Ste. Marie

Stigma still shadows the lives of many living with and affected by HIV in our community. But together, we can remember with love, shine with hope, and stand strong to build a future free from stigma and fear.

📅 When: Saturday, September 6th
🕖 Time: 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM
📍 Where: Sault Ste. Marie Museum

Presented by OAHAS, HARP, and the dedicated Organizing Committee, this vigil honors the memory of those we’ve lost, uplifts those living with HIV, and supports all impacted by HIV.
Legacy is our light. Action is our path.

Let’s unite in compassion, courage, and commitment to end stigma and ignite lasting change.
Together, we are stronger. Together, we are hope.
