Welcome everyone! This is Bailey! He is a 3 year old Great Pyrenees/Golden Retriever.
He was born on March 23rd, 2020. ( we share the same birthday)
He is our gentle giant, he is sooo good with our four year old daughter, supper cuddly and loves to be near you! You will get an endless “shake paw” when seated next to him! He loves to chase the squirrels and bark at the birds , and at anything in general!
Lastnight we noticed Bailey limping on his right back leg. We watched him carefully the rest of the evening , without much improvement.
Bailey and myself didn’t get much sleep that night. I’m the morning he didn’t greet me when it was time to enjoy my morning coffee while he went out to do his morning business, he stayed in my room. ( very unusual)
As the day progressed into the afternoon.. I noticed the limping wasn’t really a limp anymore he was kinda dragging his leg now. At this time I was helping him on and off the couch.. helping him in and outside.. he was not improving at all, even after consulting with a vet , In which we were to told to keep and eye on it and if got worse in the next couple of days .. to bring him in.
We didn’t make a day! Early afternoon I left work and called my husband to tell him we needed to take Bailey in, he was barely walking, not to mention he still hadn’t done his morning ‘business’
After an exam and a few X-rays , the vet determined Baileys injury was, “cruciate ligament”, which is a torn ligament, and the cure is … Surgery!
Not just surgery , but a surgery performed by a special surgeon.
So now we are home .. to do the two weeks of medication, and they wanna do the surgery by June 9th 2023! Oh and did I mention this surgery is really expensive! Not to mention the $500 dollar vet bill today to just examine.
So now we wait.. to see how to proceed …
Your welcome to follow us on this journey!
