Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)

The Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program is an internationally recognized, evidence-based approach to managing stress and enhancing well-being.

Over 8 weeks, participants are guided through mindfulness practices such as:

✨ Gentle movement
✨ Body awareness

You’ll explore new ways of relating to stress, pain, and the challenges of daily life.

Research shows that MBSR can:

✔ Support emotional balance
✔ Enhance physical health
✔ Build resilience and peace of mind

Whether you’re managing work demands, illness, or everyday pressures, MBSR offers practical skills for a healthier, more mindful way of living.

The monthly Maltby Mental Health Walk-In Clinic, which usually takes place onsite at the Sharbot Lake Family Health Team on the first Wednesday of each month, is cancelled tomorrow, February 4.

The monthly clinic will resume in March.

👉 This does NOT impact the weekly Sharbot Lake Family Health Team Wednesday Urgent Care Walk-In Clinic, which will take place as usual.

Upcoming Pneumonia & RSV Vaccine Clinic

📅 Tuesday, February 3, 2026

⚠️ Appointment required – not a walk-in clinic

We are offering a free Pneumonia (Pneumococcal) and RSV vaccine clinic for patients eligible under Ontario guidelines.

These vaccines help protect against serious respiratory infections that can lead to hospitalization, especially in older adults. This winter, KGH and other regional hospitals have seen a significant increase in respiratory virus–related hospital visits, making prevention more important than ever — and it’s not too late to get vaccinated in February.

Who is eligible?
✔️ Pneumonia (Pneumococcal): Adults 65+
✔️ RSV: Adults 75+

Both vaccines can be given at the same appointment. Most people experience only mild side effects, such as arm soreness or fatigue.
