The 2021 version of the Villa James Shaw on line Auction has ended. It was our first attempt of an on line auction and it proved to be successful. The driving forces behind the process were Cathy and Len Watson, accompanied by Ruth Potter and Susan McLaughlin. On behalf of the VJS board, we applaud and thank you for your efforts.
The auction would not have been a success without the DONORS, and of course the BIDDERS.

We hope you had fun during the process. We have had feedback about the auction itself, and we know some folks were not able to log on and register. We have taken your feedback; (proxy bid increment limits, confusion as to where to see who you were bidding against..etc.)..thank you...and we will pass it on to the people who run 32AUCTIONS.
We raised just over $9000 for VILLA James Shaw. Our goal was $10000. We are very pleased with the results. Thank you.

The Villa James Shaw spring tea will happen at a later date. It was scheduled for April 4 and because of Covid-19, it has been postponed.

We will feature some of the auction items on a daily basis. Would you like to soar to new heights above the Ottawa? We will have something for you. How about a dinner for 4 with a distinguished guest, at a restaurant of your choice in Ottawa? Details will be revealed. Ever been to an auction with Preston Cull and Art Jamieson? They will be there on Saturday night.

Villa James Shaw is now able to accept donations on behalf of departed love ones and friends. When an obituary is registered by a funeral home, proceed to the donations button on the obituary page. You can then proceed to choosing Villa James Shaw as your charity choice and fill out the necessary information. Please note that the funeral home has no involvement with your donation. This process is handled by a third party, and you will receive a receipt for your donation. Eight per ent of your donation goes to the third party and 92 percent goes to Villa James Shaw. You will receive a receipt for 100% of your donation. Thank you.

Hello everyone,

The 3rd annual Villa James Shaw Dance was held on August 4th at the RA Hall in Shawville. Once again it was a success with 476 tickets being sold! Our auction brought in around $2980 and the 50/50 was $650. Overall around $8500 was raised that night, which is a huge help for our project.

Thank you to all our members for supporting Villa James Shaw. It would not be possible without the support of the community.

On behalf of Villa James Shaw board of directors, I want to thank everyone who purchased tickets and attended our Fundraising Dance last night. We also want to thank the good people and businesses who donated items for the auction. Thank you to our auctioneer, Murray Graham and the attendees who bid so generously. And the Des Allen Band, thank you. This is the 3rd year that they have provided music for our events. Thank you to the people who donated the food and to Susan and Bill McCleary, and the kitchen volunteers for preparing the lunch. And our decorators did a great job setting up the fishing theme. The trip for 2 to Niagara Falls from Jameison Travel was won by a couple from Kanata, the McLaughlin's. And a big thank you to the RA organization for the hall and tending the bar. In the end, over $8000 was raised for the Villa James Shaw cause. This is a wonderful supportive community. Thank you.

August 4th is less than a week away. August 4th at 7:30 Pm, at the RA Center in Shawville is the 3rd annual Villa James Shaw fundraising dance. You can buy tickets at Stedmans and Jolie Folie. We have a terrific door prize of a trip for 2 to Niagara Falls, valued at $1800. Your dance ticket is your entry to the draw. You do not have to attend the dance to win the prize. We will have a live auction. Among the items to be auctioned off, we have a plane ride; a gift certificate for legal advice; several hand made beautiful crafts; something to lie your head upon, something to crawl under, and even something to sit upon; we have a purse, probably the only one in the world of its kind. If we don't have it, then you probably don't need it. And, to complete the evening, we have the DesAllen Band and a light delicious lunch will be served. See you there.

Hello folks. The Villa James Shaw fundraiser is approaching quickly. You can buy your tickets at Jolie Folie in town, and Stedmans. And, don't forget the fabulous door prize; a trip for 2 to Niagara Falls to see the Festival of Lights. The trip is valued at $1800.00. You do not have to be at the dance to win the prize. The prize is transferable. ( Please note that there is no redeemable cash or credit value for the trip from either Villa James Shaw or Jamieson Travel.)
