Job description:

Title: Child and youth facilitator / Community Intervener the Courage Centre inc.

Location: Shediac

Role: As the child and youth intervener, you will work with your team members to deliver the evidence-based SNAP program for children in the Shediac region as well as provide support to children and youth clients of the Courage Centre. If you want to make a lasting difference in the lives of children in your community, this is the position for you!

Number of positions: 1, Full-Time

Qualifications:

· A University degree or college diploma in Social sciences, Social Work, Psychology, Child and Youth Care or a related discipline.

· Exceptional communication skills, both orally and in writing in both official languages (French and English) is mandatory.

· Experience working with children, adolescents, families and groups, and familiarity with associated systems (schools, community agencies) would be an asset.

· Strong organizational skills and details oriented.

· Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and videoconferencing systems, such as Zoom, Webex and\or Microsoft Teams.

· Ability to work in a highly distractible environment, to multitask and be sensitive to the uniqueness and demands of a non-profit agency.

· Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.

· Ability to work in a respectful manner with individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences.

Current and valid Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check.
Must be legally able to work in Canada.
Key Responsibilities:

· Delivers children’s mental health group interventions

· Facilitates group programs and individual counselling sessions.

· Actively participates in case management process for clients including case management activities and case review meetings

· Maintain client records

· May provide supervision to interns, students and/or volunteers

· Travel to alternate cities/locations for program delivery

Salary and Conditions

· The salary is negotiable based on experience.

· Benefit package

· This is a full-time position

· Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.

· This position involves some evenings for direct group delivery of the children’s program.

The Courage Centre is incredibly grateful to Cindy Comeau and C3 Leadership for selecting the Courage Centre as the charity of choice for their International Women’s Day event.

March is a powerful month. A time to recognize the strength, courage, and resilience of women everywhere.

At the Courage Centre, we see that strength every single day. Women who are finding their voices, reclaiming their power, and building safer futures for themselves and their children.

We see the strength in our community, too. In the friends who walk beside them, the volunteers who give their time, and the runners who lace up their shoes each year for Run for Women Moncton.

Together, we are creating a community where women are supported, believed, and empowered.

We cannot say enough about the support we have received through the Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides. Their service and quality are top notch.

Our Justice Facility Dogs NB program exists here in NB because they set us up with successful training and excellent dogs that have become a strong part of our team.

, this Valentine’s week is all about love. 💕

For many children, a calm and consistent presence can make a difficult situation feel more manageable. For six remarkable years, Facility Support Dog Guide Marielle has been that steady support in a place that can feel overwhelming: the courtroom. With her gentle spirit, she has helped children and vulnerable victims find courage when their voices felt small.

Olivia, now a young teen, was one of those children. This Valentine’s Day, she shared this message:

“To my sweet Marielle… Happy Valentine’s Day to the cuddliest poodle that ever existed! You made me feel so much better when I had to go to court… Thank you for being a friend when I needed you. I now sleep every night with your mini stuffy, and I haven’t been dreaming about the bad monsters… I know you’ll be hanging up your cape soon, but you will always be a hero to me. With hugs, Olivia.”

After years of devoted service at the Centre Courage Centre in New Brunswick, Marielle is beginning a well-earned retirement — trading courtrooms for sunshine, ball-chasing, and well-deserved rest, while leaving behind a lasting legacy of comfort, courage, and care. 🐾💖 Enjoy retirement, Marielle 💐

Let’s Inspire Kindness ✨ Pay It Forward Saturday

To celebrate our first month at Inspire Yoga Shediac, we’re opening our doors and inviting our community to pay it forward.

On Saturday, January 31, we’ll be offering free Pay It Forward classes, open to everyone… whether you’re a member or brand new to our space.

These classes are an opportunity to move, breathe, connect, and give back.

We’ll be highlighting the Family Crisis Centre, and optional cash donations will be accepted for those who wish to support this important local organization.

This day is about creating a ripple of kindness… offering space, movement, and care, and inspiring one another through small acts that make a meaningful difference.
