Our House Youth Wellness Centre Our House is an inclusive space for Shelburne County youth to relax, socialize, and access programs

SCYHSA page aims to create a safe place for diverse and inclusive conversation. This conversation will be an opportunity to engage by sharing messages of equality, safety, and dispelling myths. In addition, our online presence will provide a forum to share about the Centre work and initiatives in the community and support the work of other collaborative groups. Comments that include vulgarity, threats or discrimination will not be tolerated. Comments of this nature will be deleted, reported to authorities and users banned from the conversation. Comments that are contrary to our message may be responded to with a restatement of our message. Ongoing comments of this nature, if deemed to pose a risk to the safety of users of the site, may be banned.

🎄 Our December Calendar is Here! 🎄

We’re excited to kick off the holiday season with you! This month, we’ll be joining the festivities at Miracle on Dock Street, we can’t wait to celebrate and spread some holiday cheer. ✨

We’ll be keeping our regular Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday drop-ins. This month every Monday will feature a fun craft! 🎨

Keep an eye out for us and our Hot Chocolate Bar at SRHS & LRHS throughout December! ☕❄️

Our Holiday Party for youth in grades 7–12 will be happening on December 22nd, and you won’t want to miss it!

🍽️ Our popular Home for the Holidays Community Meal is back this year, taking place on December 21st from 4–6pm. Bring your friends, family, and holiday spirit!

Please note that the Centre will be closed starting December 23rd and will reopen on January 2nd.

Hey Shelburne and surrounding communities! 💙
Did you know we have two showers available on site—one of them fully accessible?

We’re grateful that the recent rain has helped many local wells, but we also understand that some of our neighbours are still facing low or no water. If that’s you, please know our showers are here for you.

To help us make sure the space is available when you arrive, we just ask that you call ahead to book a time. Our shower hours are 10am–1pm Monday-Friday, but if these times don’t work for you, please reach out. We’ll do our best to accommodate your needs.

We’re grateful for the chance to partner with Braveheart to offer two babysitting courses here in Shelburne County. Thanks to this collaboration, 21 local youth are now certified babysitters, adding valuable support to families across our community.

By helping to subsidize the cost, we aimed to make this opportunity accessible to more families and to strengthen the network of young caregivers in our area.

A big thank-you to Lindsay, our incredible instructor, we’ve heard wonderful things about her teaching and the positive experience she created for participants.

Congratulations to all of the new babysitters! We are so proud of you and wish you every success in your future caregiving adventures! 🌟🍼

Today, we pause in gratitude and reflection. Our office will be closed on November 11th as we honour the courage, sacrifice, and service of those who gave so much for our freedom.

May we take this day to remember their bravery, their stories, and the peace they fought to protect.
