Avoidance can feel like protection. Like you are keeping yourself safe by not looking too closely. By staying busy. By convincing yourself it is not that serious.
But what we avoid does not disappear. It waits. It shows up in our reactions. In our triggers. In the patterns we swear we are done repeating.
Growth asks something different of you. It asks you to sit still long enough to feel what you ran from. To name what hurt. To acknowledge what you tolerated. To admit what you needed but never said out loud.
That discomfort is not regression. It is integration. It is your nervous system learning that you can face the truth without collapsing.
Strength is not in how well you distract yourself. It is in how honestly you are willing to confront yourself.
