About Greatlife Psychology Centre Inc.
Greatlife Psychology Centre Inc. is a multidisciplinary mental health practice committed to providing evidence-based, trauma-informed psychological care to individuals navigating complex mental health challenges. The Centre has a particular focus on supporting veterans, first responders, and individuals exposed to prolonged, high-risk, or high-responsibility environments, where chronic stress, trauma, and moral injury are common.
Our work is grounded in the understanding that trauma-related difficulties are not personal failures, but predictable nervous system responses shaped by experience, responsibility, and exposure to threat. Treatment is approached with respect, clinical rigor, and an emphasis on restoring dignity, functioning, and meaning.
A Multidisciplinary, Veteran-Informed Team
Greatlife Psychology Centre Inc. is home to a diverse team of registered psychologists, registered clinical counsellors, and allied mental health professionals, each bringing specialized training and clinical experience. Our clinicians work collaboratively to ensure care is tailored, comprehensive, and responsive to the unique needs of each client.
Many members of our team have extensive experience working with:
Veterans and military members
First responders (including police, fire, paramedics, and emergency personnel)
Individuals living with PTSD, complex trauma, and moral injury
Clients managing the intersection of psychological injury, physical injury, and vocational disruption

Emotion regulation and distress tolerance strategies
Values-based and meaning-focused interventions
Our clinicians are informed by the work of leading trauma researchers and clinicians, including Judith Herman, Bessel van der Kolk, Edna Foa, Stephen Porges, Marsha Linehan, Jonathan Shay, and Brett Litz, while maintaining flexibility to meet clients where they are in their recovery.
Understanding the Veteran and First Responder Experience
We recognize that veterans and first responders often face unique psychological challenges, including:
Chronic hypervigilance and threat sensitivity
Avoidance and emotional withdrawal
Anger, irritability, and frustration
Depression, numbness, and loss of meaning
Moral injury related to values, responsibility, and betrayal
Treatment is delivered with an appreciation for operational culture, identity transitions, and the cumulative impact of service-related stressors. Our clinicians strive to create a therapeutic environment that balances clinical structure with respect, clarity, and collaboration.
Beyond Symptom Management
At Greatlife Psychology Centre Inc., therapy is not limited to symptom reduction alone. Our work also focuses on:
Restoring emotional regulation and nervous system balance
Supporting healthy relationships and communication
Addressing identity disruption and moral injury
Facilitating vocational readiness and life transitions
Helping clients reconnect with purpose, values, and long-term goals
We view recovery as a process of rebuilding a meaningful life, not simply managing distress.

Ethical and professional standards of practice
Ongoing clinical education and development
Collaboration with medical, vocational, and rehabilitation providers
Providing care that is respectful, transparent, and client-centred
