Non-judgment is a foundational mindfulness skill.
It is not about pretending everything is fine. It is about moving away from “good” or “bad” and instead asking:
• What is working?
• What is not working?
• What is helpful?
• What is hurtful?
• What is safe?
• What is unsafe?
When we reduce judgment, we reduce shame. When we reduce shame, we create room for change. This skill can shift how we relate to ourselves and others.
