Our Story

Since 1960, families of Sherwood Park and the surrounding communities have come to know Glenwood Funeral Home and Cemetery for its beautiful park like setting, sparkling ponds and local wildlife.

Glenwood Funeral Home has a private setting on peaceful cemetery grounds. We provide personalized funeral and cremation services all at one location, including a chapel for memorials which seats 175 guests. This space is open to every culture and faith and is ideal for Celebrations of Life. In addition to the chapel, we offer an outdoor patio space as well as a reception lounge which overlooks the fountain pond. We have full kitchen facilities and gladly provide catering for families that wish to hold a reception.

The funeral home is wheelchair accessible, with 120 parking spaces on-site. Our facility is equipped with a state-of-the-art audiovisual system to ensure that no matter the size of the gathering, every guest can participate in speeches and take comfort in photos.

Glenwood Cemetery is a stunning 97-acre property in Strathcona County, near Sherwood Park. Many families choose a location in the cemetery that reflects their culture, faith, and values. Regardless of one’s final resting place at Glenwood, there are always scenic views, ponds, and rolling hills within sight. We offer traditional burial gardens, cremation gardens, above ground crypts, private family mausoleums, and a variety of cremation internment options. There is also a beautifully maintained nature walk where dedication and cremation products can be placed in a loved one’s memory. A funeral home is located on-site for services with up to 175 guests. The added convenience of our new on-site funeral home, constructed in 1999, has ensured that Glenwood will continue to meet the evolving needs of today’s families from one beautiful full-service location.
