You began as an egg inside your mother… while she was still inside your grandmother.

All the eggs a woman will ever carry form when she is just a 4-month-old fetus in her own mother’s womb.
Which means… you began your life inside your grandmother.

You spent months bathed in the same blood and rhythm as your mother, before she ever took her first breath.
This thread of life runs through the women before us, all the way back to the first mother.

A reminder, you are part of an unbroken chain of strength and survival.

Bringing a baby into the world changes everything — your body, your heart, your sense of self. In those early weeks, a mother needs more than sleep and food (though those help!) — she needs love, gentleness, and someone to hold her while she’s holding her baby. 💕

Postpartum support isn’t a luxury. It’s the difference between surviving and feeling truly cared for. When we surround new mothers with patience, listening ears, and helping hands, we don’t just nurture them — we nurture the next generation, too. 🌿

To every new mom: you are not alone, and you deserve to be cared for just as deeply as you care for your little one. 🤍 P.S. they say the umbilical cord is cut at birth
but any mom will tell you,
it never really is.

because when her child cries,
her chest tightens.
when they’re in pain,
she feels it in her bones.
and when they’re happy,
her soul lights up.

there’s a cord they can’t see-
woven from love, worry, instinct, and prayer.

it pulls her out of sleep at 2 a.m.
it whispers, “check on them,”
even when they’re grown.

it’s why she still tears up watching them walk away.
why she still says, “drive safe,” like it’s a prayer.
why she still lays awake, heart wide open,
loving them across time and distance.

because motherhood doesn’t end.
not at the hospital.
not at graduation.
not ever.

no matter how far they go,
a piece of her always goes with them.

This has been on my bucket list for decades.. one day, I hope to see this miracle at a birth 💞Born in an amniotic sac. This is rare!
An en caul birth is a rare obstetric phenomenon in which the fetus is delivered entirely or partially encased within the intact amniotic sac, the membranous structure that typically ruptures during labor (“water breaking”). In these cases, the amniotic membrane remains unbroken during delivery, resulting in a transparent, fluid-filled balloon surrounding the neonate. Most commonly observed in premature births or cesarean deliveries, en caul births pose no harm to the infant and are often considered protective, as the intact sac can cushion the fetus from uterine contractions and trauma during passage through the birth canal. Immediate postnatal management involves careful rupture of the membranes and assessment of the neonate for respiratory and hemodynamic stability.
