It’s funny how certain conditions come through the clinic doors in waves… Lately, we’ve been meeting a lot of people living with Scoliosis.

What is Scoliosis? It’s a condition where the spine curves to the side. It may appear in childhood or adulthood and is actually quite common in the general population.

How does physio, athletic therapy, kinesiology, and massage support scoliosis? With manual therapy to reduce pain and stiffness, targeted exercise to promote alignment, core strength to support the spine, education to empower, and support to navigate the management process.

Well, today was a lesson in surrendering. Got sick right before the race, wore shoes I hadn’t broken in, and my watch didn’t start properly at the start line. Despite feeling like the odds were stacking against me, we showed up and did the damn thing 😜 Congrats to all the runners! 👊🫶

With all those repetitive miles on pavement, there can be power in incorporating different training surfaces. Try adding some hill repeats on your favourite trail or sprints on the local track. Your joints will thank you. 🫶
