✨️Introducing nurse Jessi Sibb to our team!

Here is a bit about her:

I’ve been a nurse since 2018, and over the years I’ve worked in pediatrics, public health, and eventually found my love in community care. That’s really where everything shifted for me.

Getting into footcare came from seeing the need right here in my local community. It’s something that’s often overlooked, but it makes such a big difference in people’s day to day lives. I wanted to be able to give back in a more personal way and support people in staying comfortable, safe, and confident on their feet.

I care a lot about helping people feel good and be well, especially those who might not be able to care for their feet on their own. Whether it’s reducing pain, preventing complications, or just helping someone feel more like themselves again, that’s what drives me.

This path also allows me to lean into my entrepreneurial spirit while creating a life that gives me more time with my family, which is really important to me. I’m grateful to be able to do work I love while supporting the community I’m a part of.

Jessi is going to be covering while nurse Victoria is on maternity leave. She will become a friendly, familiar face and we are excited to have her on our team!

🦶 Did You Know?

Your Feet Do NOT Have Oil Glands

This is one of the biggest reasons feet become dry, cracked, and uncomfortable.

👣 Here’s why foot skin is different:

The soles of your feet do not have oil (sebaceous) glands
They do have thousands of sweat glands
Sweat = water, not moisture

💦 What this means

Even though your feet may sweat, they cannot naturally lubricate or protect themselves. Without oil, the skin barrier breaks down more easily.
This can lead to:
Dry, flaky skin
Callus buildup
Heel cracks and fissures
Increased risk of skin breakdown and infection

🧴 Why daily foot care matters

Because your feet can’t moisturize themselves:
Regular washing and soaking can actually make dryness worse
Aging, circulation issues, diabetes, and neuropathy increase risk
Daily moisturizing is essential, not optional
