Meet 𝗠𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗻 𝗧𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿, owner and pharmacist of Medicine Shoppe in Slave Lake — a local business built on 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲, 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆, and 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗱 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲. After beginning her journey in Nova Scotia and moving north through a pharmacy scholarship opportunity, Megan quickly fell in love with Slave Lake and decided to build something meaningful right here at home.

In 2019, she opened Medicine Shoppe with a vision to do things differently — focusing on 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀, 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲, and services that make life easier for local families. From specialty medical supplies to ongoing professional certifications, Megan continues to grow her skills so she can better support the community she serves.

This coming Monday (February 16) is a statutory holiday! We will be CLOSED so that our staff can enjoy the day with their families! 💙

As always, we ask that you please plan ahead for your prescription needs - if anything urgent comes up you can private message us, email us, or leave a voicemail to request assistance and our Pharmacist will get back to you as soon as possible!

🚨 ⚠️ Please be advised - our internet is currently down and is not expected to be restored until tomorrow (Tuesday) when the IT team can get a new part here to restore our network access ⚠️ 🚨

Unfortunately this means we cannot process new prescriptions through insurance at this time. If you are needing something urgently please phone us and we will see what we can do! We have figured out a few “work-arounds” to use in the meantime!

Our debit/credit machine also relies on the internet - so we cannot process payments by card - but we can still accept cash or e-transfer (or for our regular customers who we see often, you can pay at your next visit)

Say what?! 🤯😳 We have been so busy, we almost forgot! 🫣🫢

It’s hard to believe - but this week marks 7 years since we opened our doors! We have certainly grown as a business, and adapted to the needs of our community over the years - but one thing that remains the same is all of YOU 💙

We assume that means many of you have ordered refills and forgot to pick them up! This is a friendly reminder that we close at 1pm on December 24 so please ensure you pickup your prescriptions if you will need them over Christmas!

We are CLOSED December 25 and 26 - we then re-open at 2pm on Monday December 29!
