It's been a while, so I thought I'd come on here and (re)introduce myself!
Hi, I'm Kassy, a Registered Psychotherapist (RP)!
❓️What's that you ask??
A Registered Psychotherapist (RP) is a licensed mental health professional who provides psychotherapy to individuals, couples, families, or groups to help them address emotional, psychological, or behavioral issues.
🤔 What we Do:
Registered Psychotherapists help clients with:
✅️Anxiety, depression, trauma, and grief
✅️Relationship issues or family conflict
✅️Addiction, self-esteem, and identity issues
✅️Life transitions or personal growth
I primarily work with trauma (first responders, childhood trauma, suiciduality, anxiety and depression to name a few).
🤷♀️🤷♂️How do we help??
We use talk therapy techniques (e.g., cognitive-behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, mindfulness-based therapy) to support change and healing. I am currently trained in a variety of trauma modalities including TF-CBT, S.A.F.E EMDR (for adults and children), Brainspotting, IFS, DBT, CBT, EFIT, EFT (couples) and Mindfulness.
👩🎓🏫To become an RP, I:
- Completed a college diploma in Community and Justice Service Worker.
- Completed an honours Bachelor of Arts in Criminology and Criminal Justice where I specialized in Youth, Crime, and Violence and minored in Forensice Psychology.
- Completed a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology
- Am Registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.
- Completed an jurisprudence course.
- Passed a Registration exam.
- Passed a Case-Based Assessment, which I will have to do every 5 years.
- Gained supervised clinical experience.
- Complete 40 hours of professional. development in every reporting period.
