Congratulations, Dr. Bonin, for receiving a Gift of Gratitude for the exceptional care you provide to the patients in our community and for going “above and beyond”.

The Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital is proud to have Dr. Bonin on the team.

We recently received a heartfelt gift in honour of Dr. Bonin, recognizing the incredible impact she has on her patients and their families.

“Dr. Bonin deserves this recognition because she consistently goes above and beyond for her patients and their families. During one of the most difficult times in my life, while I was in the emergency department with my daughter, Dr. Bonin offered me unwavering comfort and support. Her genuine compassion and kindness were incredibly selfless and deeply appreciated. I will never forget how she stayed with me on one of my toughest days—without being asked, simply because she cared. She is so much more than just a doctor. Dr. Bonin is a true blessing to our community, and we are incredibly fortunate to have her.” – A Grateful Patient

Thank you, Dr. Bonin, for the extraordinary care you provide to our community!

The Perth & Smiths Falls District Hospital - Corporate ( ), like many other hospitals across the region, is under significant capacity pressure due to a high demand on inpatient beds. As a result, patients who need to be admitted from the Emergency department may experience longer wait times as we prioritize care for the sickest patients first. The shortage of available inpatient beds may also result in longer wait times within the Emergency Department.

**If you require immediate medical help, please call 911. Paramedics will assist and transport you to the nearest emergency department if needed.**

As always, there are certain expectations when you attend the Perth & Smiths Falls District Hospital - Corporate. Our health care workers are doing their absolute best so please ensure that all interactions are respectful, kind and calm. A little bit of kindness can go a long way to ensure a safe environment for all. 🩷

Thank you for your continued support and patience.

New this year: Amplify your impact by collecting donations from friends and family in support of your participation. You can choose to fundraise as an individual or create a team. Every dollar helps support vital care closer to home.

All proceeds will benefit the Diagnostic Imaging Department at the Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital, enhancing access to essential healthcare in our community.

Another opportunity to connect with our youth to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital Amalgamation was to hold a creative writing contest. We asked local students, “What does the Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital and its heroes mean to you?”

Let’s just say that we were blown away by the amazing submissions! The students shared what they think of local healthcare and the importance of the hospital. Their heartwarming, thoughtful stories truly celebrated our community hospital.

Each entry was so fantastic and full of heart that we simply could not choose just one winner – so everyone won! It is inspiring to see young authors take such a meaningful interest in healthcare and what it means to them. Thank you for making the Hospital milestone even more special!

Special shout-outs to the following students at St. John’s Catholic Elementary School:
- Grade 6 – Dominic, Emma, Evelyn
- Grade 5 – Avery, Michael
