April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. SAAM is an annual public awareness opportunity to generate more public knowledge around sexual assault.

Sexual assault continues to be a pervasive violent crime which can be extremely traumatic for those who have experienced it and those around them.

This April we encourage you to help start conversations to support awareness of sexual assault. We also encourage you to actively participate in awareness activities throughout the month. Here are some ways you can show your support this month or, even better, coordinate with others in your household, workplace or circle of friends to participate:

👉🏾Wear a teal ribbon, which represents sexual assault prevention, throughout the month.
👉Wear teal on April 7th to participate in the SAAM Day of Action. The Day of Action is the first Tuesday of April and an opportunity to start the month with highly visible and coordinated actions.
👉🏾Participate in Denim Day by wearing denim on April 27th to join millions across the world that will wear jeans with a purpose, support survivors, and educate themselves and others about all forms of sexual violence.

These gentle, mindful movement classes are designed to support those navigating grief by creating space to breathe, release, and reconnect with the body in a compassionate environment.

Grief lives not only in our hearts, but in our bodies. Through movement, breath, and community, we can begin to soften the weight we carry.
