Why Your Supplements Aren't Working for You

The wrong supplements won’t fix a broken foundation.

If you’ve tried probiotics, magnesium, hormones, or detox teas with little change, this might be why:

• Poor stomach acid
• Inflamed gut lining
• Mineral depletion from stress
• Nervous system dysregulation

Healing isn’t about adding more — it’s about restoring communication between the gut, brain, liver, and hormones.

✨ This is the work most people skip — and why they stay stuck.

If you’re ready to stop guessing and start healing strategically, let’s talk.

Mineral Deficiencies Are Sabotaging Your Hormones

You don’t have a hormone problem… you may have a mineral problem.

Hormones rely on minerals to be produced, activated, and balanced.

Common imbalances I see in midlife women:
• Magnesium → poor sleep, anxiety, insulin resistance
• Zinc → low progesterone, weak immunity
• Sodium & potassium → adrenal fatigue, low energy
• Calcium (imbalanced) → thyroid and estrogen disruption

If your gut isn’t absorbing properly, it doesn’t matter how “clean” your diet is — your body can’t use what it can’t absorb.

This is why random supplementation often fails.

✨ Minerals must be replenished strategically, based on digestion, stress, and nervous system health.

You Can’t Heal Hormones Without Healing the Gut First

✨ Hormone issues don’t start in your ovaries… they often start in your gut.

If you’re dealing with stubborn weight, bloating, mood swings, fatigue, or hot flashes, your hormones may not be the root problem.

Your gut is responsible for:
• Activating and eliminating hormones (especially estrogen)
• Absorbing minerals and nutrients
• Regulating inflammation
• Communicating with your brain and thyroid

When the gut is inflamed, sluggish, or imbalanced, hormones get recirculated instead of cleared — leading to estrogen dominance, insulin resistance, and thyroid stress.

✨ Healing hormones starts with healing digestion, absorption, and elimination.

This is why I always address gut health first in my programs.

If you’ve tried “hormone fixes” that didn’t work, it may be time to look deeper.

Those women also shared.....

Lifestyle & Energy Struggles

👉🏻 Chronic fatigue → Low energy, poor sleep, and burnout make it hard to exercise or stick to a healthy plan.

👉🏻 Poor sleep quality → Night sweats, hot flashes, and hormonal shifts disrupt sleep, impacting cravings, mood, and metabolism.

👉🏻 High stress levels → Managing careers, households, and aging parents raises cortisol levels, leading to weight gain and inflammation.

⏰ Lack of “me time” → They’re constantly putting everyone else’s needs first, leaving little room for self-care.

🏋️‍♀️ Inconsistent exercise routines → They want to move more but struggle with time, motivation, or knowing what’s effective in midlife.

💻 Technology fatigue → Constant emails, social media, and being “always on” drain their focus and mental energy.

If this is your experience too and you would like to change it, book in your initial consultation and let's get started! It doesn't have to be this way.

Diet & Nutrition frustrations from some of my previous clients. ➔ Can you relate?

Conflicting information overload → Keto, intermittent fasting, paleo, plant-based, high-protein — they don’t know who or what to trust.

✅ Lack of time for meal prep → Busy schedules make it hard to plan, shop, and cook nourishing meals.

✅ Convenience trap → They rely on takeout, snacks, or processed foods when juggling work, kids, and family obligations.

✅ Protein struggles → Many midlife women under-eat protein, leaving them hungry, fatigued, and struggling to maintain muscle.

✅ Carb confusion → Unsure about which carbs are “good” or “bad” and how to balance them with protein and healthy fats.

✅ Emotional eating → Stress, boredom, and fatigue often lead to overeating comfort foods or sweets.

✅ Digestive issues → Bloating, constipation, and food sensitivities increase during midlife, making it harder to know what to eat.
🤔

If you can check yes to any of these items, it's time to take control of what you are fuelling your body with, and I can help simplify that process! A few simple tweaks to your diet can make significant digestive and hormonal changes.

Weight Loss Challenges

“Nothing works anymore.” → Do you feel like the diets and strategies that used to work in your 20s and 30s no longer produce results?

Slowed metabolism → Have you noticed weight gain, especially around the belly, despite eating the same way they always have?

Hormonal shifts → Have fluctuations in estrogen, progesterone, cortisol, and thyroid hormones made weight loss more complex for you? Maybe you aren't even sure which hormones are affected.

Insulin resistance → Do you experience stubborn belly fat and frequent energy crashes, when trying to cut calories?

Lack of consistency → Do you start new plans but struggle to stick with them due to busy schedules, family demands, and low energy? Do you end of giving up before the shifts take hold?

Quick-fix fatigue → You're tired of trying fad diets, detoxes, and extreme plans that promise fast results but don’t last?

Plateaus and discouragement → Do you feel defeated when you “do everything right” but the scale doesn’t move?

Girl, we need to talk. It's time to talk with a professional instead of taking bad diet advice from the guy at the water cooler.

01/07/2026

Women's hormones play a significant role in weight fluctuations throughout their lives. Hormonal changes can affect appetite, metabolism, and fat distribution, contributing to weight gain or loss at different stages. Key hormones involved include estrogen, progesterone, and cortisol.

During the menstrual cycle, estrogen and progesterone levels fluctuate, potentially leading to water retention and bloating, often mistaken for weight gain. In the luteal phase, increased progesterone can stimulate appetite, leading to higher calorie intake.

Pregnancy introduces substantial hormonal shifts, causing weight gain necessary for fetal development. Post-pregnancy, many women experience hormonal imbalances that can make weight loss challenging.

As women approach menopause, estrogen levels decline, which can lead to weight gain, particularly around the abdomen. This shift is often accompanied by a slower metabolism.

Stress-induced cortisol increases can also contribute to weight gain by promoting fat storage, especially in the abdominal area. Managing stress through healthy lifestyle choices can help mitigate these effects.

Understanding the impact of hormones on weight can empower women to make informed decisions about their health. Regular exercise, a balanced diet, and adequate sleep can help manage hormonal influences and maintain a healthy weight.

Achieving your goals through successful meal planning requires a strategic approach to ensure both nutrition and enjoyment. Start by setting clear objectives, whether it's weight loss, muscle gain, or simply maintaining a balanced diet. Begin by assessing your current eating habits and identifying areas for improvement.

Next, create a weekly meal plan that incorporates a variety of foods, ensuring you get all the necessary nutrients. Include plenty of fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and whole grains. It's also helpful to prepare meals in advance, which can save time and reduce the temptation to opt for less healthy options.

Monitoring portion sizes and staying hydrated are key components of successful meal planning. Keep track of your progress and adjust your plan as needed to stay on track with your goals. Remember, flexibility is important—it's okay to make adjustments along the way as long as you remain focused on your objectives. With dedication and a well-thought-out plan, you'll be well on your way to achieving your dietary goals.

Our Story

As a Registered Holistic Nutritionist, I specialize in digestion, detoxification, food allergies/ sensitivities, hormonal balancing, adrenal/thyroid issues and sustainable weight loss.

Weight loss is best achieved when you bring the body back to balance. Simply dropping the calories and forcing your body to lose weight will have detrimental effects on your endocrine system. A slower more gradual approach is scientifically proven to provide sustainable weight loss.

I also use electrodermal screening to help with supplement suggestions. Reiki, chakra balancing and angel card readings are another service I provide and the new office space is simply a pleasure to have a reiki in.
