🚨Long post alert!!📣
There’s been a big change that we would like to celebrate at .pharmacy. You may have noticed that Pharmacist Alli Meyer has been absent from the pharmacy recently. This is because she and Kristen together, bought a pharmacy in Goderich and Alli has left working at Kristen’s Pharmacy to operate their new joint venture. Alli has been with us since 2021 when she came as a co-op student for two terms. She then returned after her graduation from her PharmD program at the University of Waterloo to work with us for the last three years. Alli will be greatly missed at Kristen‘s Pharmacy and we wish her all the best in her new venture.

In saying this, I can also share that we’ve hired someone new! We will welcome Rachel Galbraith to the pharmacy. Rachel was previously working at Shoppers Drug Mart in Port Elgin and is a welcome addition to the family that provides the care that you’ve come to expect at Kristen‘s Pharmacy.

Finally I’d like to acknowledge that I, Kristen, have not been in the pharmacy a great deal lately. as many of you know I hold many roles, including a clinical professor at the University of Waterloo and I am moving into the chair position at the Board of Directors of the Ontario Pharmacists Association in June. So much of what I do is to improve access to care and medications for all patients across Ontario especially rural Ontario‘s like those Kristen’s Pharmacy serves. I will in fact, be meeting our Premier next week to discuss this! I will not be working at the new Pharmacy as it’s in good hands so I will still be in Southampton as much as I can.

The team at Kristen’s Pharmacy remains very committed to your care so even if you don’t see my face when you visit know that the care expectations will always remain the highest in the region. We continue to appreciate your patronage and in return commit to providing the highest quality of care for all of Grey and Bruce counties.

Spring COVID-19 vaccines are here, and we’re making it simple to know what you need.

If you’re 80+, a spring dose is recommended. If you’re 65+, you’re eligible to receive one if you choose. Anyone who is immunocompromised should also be getting a dose this season.

Not eligible this spring? No worries. Most people under 65 will be due for their next COVID vaccine during the fall 2026 campaign, with annual fall doses continuing to be recommended.

We’re offering COVID vaccines at Kristen’s Pharmacy on a walk-in basis, Monday to Friday, based on staff and vaccine availability.

We currently have both Moderna and Pfizer available. There’s no need to wait for a specific brand, they are interchangeable, and delaying your dose can increase your risk of illness.
