Regeneration-The New Human
The title of this reflection is the name of the ‘Gathering Event’ that I attended this past weekend with Zach Bush, Charles Eisenstein and Kevin Preston in Enderby, BC. at the Splatsin Community Centre.
This was anything but ‘Woo Woo’.
It was a deep dive into vulnerability and authentic relating.
It was about letting go of the old paradigms of self… an opportunity to face our fears and fully embody our gifts and our gracious reason for being.
It was about healing the suffering we have perpetuated upon each other, nature, animals, and our environment.
Doing this required our willingness to see and share the raw tenderness and beauty of our hearts.
I was brought to tears many times as I felt the heart of humanity and the ways I have hidden my pain and vulnerability for fear of not being valued or appreciated.
As much work as I have done to heal my traumatic wounds, there is always another layer of growth calling out to be embraced.
At the end of the event I had the honour and blessing of meeting “Big Blue Stone” who was standing in front of the pavilion speaking to a woman. I went over to thank him and his people for sharing their beautiful home with all of us. He shared so much wisdom and insight about being a carrier and preserver of his people’s song’s, stories, and sacred practices. He said we (his people) are one with the stones and have been here since the beginning of time as guardians of the earth and all living things.
He talked about being here for eons and that he is one of 183 guardians.
He also used the word “WE” instead of ‘I’ when he spoke about what he knows.
He also shared that evil was banished from this realm but human beings let it in through their fear. We humans are the last vestige for evil to thrive and it is important to realize that fear is not real… it is a fabrication of the mind.
Big Blue Stone continued to share for another hour.
He also had an uncanny insight and awareness about Karrie playing with the stones in the eagle river when she was growing up in Sicamous.
Just before parting, Big Blue Stone offered to sing me one of his people’s songs. As I listened with my eyes mostly closed, I felt some kind of historical emotional ancestry speaking to me, as if it was coming through to me beyond time and space.
One of the most powerful messages about becoming the New Human emphasized the need to apologize for our transgressions against nature, each other and all of life.
This was actively demonstrated and experienced by everyone as we shared in dyads.
Zach Bush shared his experience of being asked to speak to a community that had been devastated by war, forced into abject poverty and for the most part, ignored by the rest of the world as they were relocated to inhospitable lands, overcrowded and with no ability to grow any food. When he was asked to step up and speak to these devastated people, all he could do was weep and say I am so sorry. Afterwards a man came up to Zach and said, “I have never heard a white man apologize.”
A very powerful alchemy took place this past weekend.
I am not the same man I was last Friday.
My prayer is that we all embrace the clarion call to be more vigilant about regenerating within ourselves, a wholly New Human living in harmony with All That Is.
