Morning everyone, I am calling it a season for yoga : ) It’s like week 19 came and went and my brain shut off 😋. What a season. I am deeply aware that this is the most yoga I will ever be able to teach in a 9-month span. I dunno about you all, but I’m heading into the summer feeling like Gumby 😂 in the best way.

When planning the season, I predicted we would have ~45 classes over 19 weeks. I’m thrilled to share that we managed 47 classes over 19 weeks! Thank you so much for showing up with me 🫶

For summer, I am hoping to teach a few drop-in Wednesday evening classes between the end of July - mid-Aug. I can't predict the fall much at this point, but I am planning to teach a semi-regular Wednesday evening class.

I think I got in touch with all of our remaining pass holders but if I happened to miss you, please get in touch with me!

I wish you all a fabulous rest of your spring and start to summer! We will be in touch and see you around : )

Happy Mother’s Day, everyone 🤍✨

Short and sweet this week; Mon + Tue classes will be gentle / beginner friendly. Mainly groundwork practice, deep stretching and resting nervous systems. Wednesday’s class will be regular. One last moon themed pose to introduce before the end of the season!

Heads up, there will not be class on Monday the 19th.

I had such a happy moment in class last Wednesday while I watched our 2nd moon salutation flow quite gracefully across the entire class. My teaching goal this season was to have everyone feel comfortable with the Sun & Moon Salutations and we did it you guys!!

Mon + Tue classes will be regular; nothing new, practice time. Wednesday's class will be beginner / gentle. We’ve been working hard lately, time for groundwork, deep stretching and relaxation!

And it’s Nidra week! 🧠

I would greatly appreciate it if you could all kindly remember to cancel with me, even if it’s fairly last minute.

Happy Sunday, everyone! 🤍

3 recent lung concerns sent me to the doctor last week. X-rays came back clear, and I seem to be fit as a fiddle otherwise, just a little stressed about it 🫠 my time working as a chemical technologist before Noah keeps me extra mindful of lung health.

Interestingly, one thing the doctor did take time to mention is the importance of practicing deep breathing exercises regularly for more than just stress relief.

It all sent me down a lung health rabbit hole 🫁 ex. I learned that trapped air can weaken lung capacity. So it seems like a good time to share more about why we take ~7 minutes at the start of each class, to do these exercises.

Breathing Exercise Benefits:
- lower blood pressure
- relieve stress and promote relaxation
- strengthen and make lungs more efficient with oxygen (specifically our diaphragmatic breathing exercises)
- better energy & focus
- better sleep

I often encourage you to exhale through pursed lips (it’s good to hear you breathe)! This article dives deeper into how it boosts your lungs.

All 3 classes this week are Regular, with a few new poses, and it’s Nidra for Savasana (our final relaxation pose). Let’s take care of that mind-body connection that can help you notice when something feels off with your body. Think “melt-stress and improve mind-body awareness” all in one meditation.

It’s week 13! We have 8 weeks of class left before the summer break, which I have on the brain right now ☀️ on that note, for the summer season I plan to schedule pop-up classes when I am around and have an evening to spare. No set schedule. Just check the FB page : )

Noah is swimming again this year, and I was talking to Justine recently about how the flower fundraiser is a tough one for Faron and I, bc we don't have any family to sell to in the area. And most of our friend-fam either have kids in swim club themselves or are related to said kids in swim club, so we find ourselves a bit puzzled on who to sell to each season. Justine said, “Ask your yoga community.” and she's so right. You are my people 🤍 so, I am going to post this and only this fundraiser through Bloom every year bc who doesn't love the flowers that come from this greenhouse! Looking forward to another week of classes ✨

Whether your heels touch the mat or your knees are bent, you’re doing down dog if you can create that line from your tailbone to the crown of your head. These photos are screenshots from one of our YouTube videos 5 years ago, and I have seen improvement in my flexibility since then. I can tilt my pelvis even more, as several muscle tones have lengthened from regular practice. A reminder that it takes time 🤍

- Mon March 31 + Wed Apr 2 classes are gentle/beginner friendly (groundwork classes)
