For those feeling uneasy at the state of things amongst our people across nations, a helpful exercise I find is a visualization in meditation.
Simply sit quietly in a place you won't be disturbed, close your eyes, and begin to breathe. After you've become more comfortable breathing, begin to imagine those others who might be meditating/praying with you at this time, for there is always someone in every moment of the day that is doing this with you. Imagine together, that place which is in pain, and imagine the love and light, peace, and power of that which you believe in spiritually, going to that place. Try to see that energy touching those who would use violence against one another, helping them to become more aware of the unity of things, so that they might begin to question how they consciously relate to the others around them. Attempt to imagine forgiveness between aggressor and victim, and the healing of trauma. Imagine that place becoming so filled with love that the need for violence is utterly forgotten. I recommend attempting this for 20 minutes each day, it will make a difference. There is no specific list of things that you must see when you are attempting to do this either, as long as you continue to attempt to see and feel this theme with those areas you're worried about, it will have a positive effect over time, on you, as well as the world.
If your feelings of discomfort remain by the end of the 20 minute attempt, don't be discouraged, sometimes it takes multiple attempts before feeling something, what's more important is the continued attempting that will bring results. You got this!
