Did you know kids’ eyes let in up to 70% more UV light than adults’? Their developing lenses can’t filter out UV rays as effectively, allowing harmful sunlight to reach the retina. Over time, this exposure can increase the risk of serious eye conditions such as cataracts and macular degeneration, later in life. A good pair of sunglasses and a wide-brimmed hat go a long way in protecting their vision for the future!

🔬✨Did you know?
Demodex mites are microscopic parasites that lives mostly within the hair follicles on the face and the eyes and is usually found on the eyelids and lashes. Despite the unappealing appearance under a microscope, demodex naturally occurs on the skin in small amounts and can actually be beneficial for the skin, as they remove the dead skin cells. In small numbers, they typically do not cause any harm or symptoms.

🤕💢 However, if they reproduce in large numbers, they can cause significant damage to the skin and eyes— dry, red, and itchy skin, and/or eczema, as well as severe inflammation of the eyelids, and damage to the oil glands in the eyelid margins, meibomian glands and eyelashes.
