Practitioner spotlight - Elliot Godman RMT
So, Elliot, tell me a bit about yourself. Where did you grow up?
Elliot: I’m originally from Coquitlam. Growing up, I was super active—into sports, traveling, camping—all that good stuff with my family.
Nice! So, what got you into massage therapy?
Elliot: Well, I’ve always been hands-on and curious about health. Massage therapy seemed like a perfect fit to blend my love for movement and wellness.
And now you’re in the Sea to Sky corridor, right?
Elliot: Yeah, been here since 2017. It’s a playground for everything I love skiing, hiking, biking, climbing and getting into the backcountry- you name it. Plus, I’m big into Jiu-jitsu, been at it for a while now.
That’s awesome! How would you describe your approach as a therapist?
Elliot: I see myself as part therapist, part trainer. I think there’s this gap between how we evolved and how we live now. I use massage and movement to help bridge that gap, tackling everything from recovery to mental health.
And what is your education in this field? Do you have any special training?
Elliot: I graduated from West Coast College of Massage Therapy in 2017. Since then, I’ve dived deep into the Functional Range System (FRS) for short—it’s all about functional mobility, joint health and increasing range of movement. Got a bunch of certifications there too.
Sounds interesting ! How has that additional training shaped your practice?
Elliot: It’s been huge. Expanded my toolkit big time. Now I can really tailor exercises and treatments to fit each person’s needs.
How can people see you for a treatment?
