Emily Adams is starting February 25th and will be available Tuesdays 7:00 am -1:00 pm.

Meet Emily:

Emily completed her Master of Physical Therapy (MPT) from UBC and has worked in the Sea to Sky corridor ever since. Prior to completing her MPT, Emily attained her Bachelor of Human Kinetics degree (BHKIN) at the University of British Columbia Okanagan while playing on the Varsity Golf Team. Emily worked as a Kinesiologist for one year before starting her postgraduate degree at UBC. This experience as a kinesiologist helped her gain plenty of knowledge regarding exercise rehabilitation and knowledge that she still incorporates into her practice today. She enjoys working with athletes, pelvic floor clientele, and clients suffering from chronic pain. Emily helps her clients overcome their injuries or pain through a combination of strength training, mobility, manual therapy, and IMS as needed. She holds postgraduate certifications in dry needling (AN-IMS) and pelvic floor physiotherapy.

FreeForm Physio & Pilates would like to welcome a part-time registered physiotherapist (with a minimum of 3 years experience) to the team. This position is for a one year contract, assisting with maternity leave coverage for the lovely Kathrine Stolborg.

Did you know Kathrine specializes in Functional Range Conditioning? She absolutely loves mobility training and incorporates this method into rehabilitation with her clients. When Kathrine is not at FreeForm helping clients, you can catch her teaching mobility classes at Wild Life Gym.

Here's a sneak peak of her blog post: “I believe mobility training is the gateway to movement freedom. Whether you’re a pro athlete, recovering from an injury, or just like to get out there and enjoy life, mobility training is relevant for you! Mobility training will allow you to move freely and face any physical challenges that life throws your way.”

New blog post!

In addition to the reformer, FreeForm Physio & Pilates now has a Pilates chair. Like the reformer, the Pilates chair or “Wunda” chair is another one of the original pieces of equipment first engineered by Joseph Pilates. It is the most compact piece of Pilates equipment. How does it work? Can it offer benefits the reformer can’t? In this blog (4 minute reading time), I will describe what a Pilates chair is, the different parts of the Pilates chair, how it differs from a Pilates reformer, and the additional benefits of this form of rehabilitation.

Happy reading! 🤓
