What is spiritual "cord cutting" and why I rarely cut cords.

If we can consider that each relationship that you have connects you two with a cord. Let's be curious as to what this cord actually represents.

Perhaps this cord represents every conversation that you've had with this other. Or perhaps all of the emotions, or adventures you've experienced together.

You may also begin to realize that each of these cords is unique on its own. Representing how unique each relationship is.

Now imagine that you take a pair of scissors and you cut this cord cus someone said something mean or you had a huge fight - something happened where you want to "cut the cord" to cut off all ties.

Do you think that by cutting this cord, you can delete every moment you've had with this other, or any past present future thought one of you may have of each other ? No. It only disrupts what has been. And continues regrowing what is.

Instead of"cord cutting". Let's dive in. Let's heal those wounds. Let's look in the shadows and put an end to things that no longer serve you. Let's go deeper.

HOW do I MEDITATE? 🤔

This question was asked to me this week from one of my beautiful friends.

There is an ideation of what meditation "should be". Let's delete any preconceptions of what we think meditation should be.

Like washing dishes, we all do it, we all do it differently, but we all get the result we're seeking - clean dishes.

I'd like you to use this same idea with meditation. No one can tell you exactly HOW to meditate, and there is not perfect ideal of how to NEED to meditate. Just try it - your way - when you're ready.

Here's a few steps to guide you through you're habit learning phase of developing a regular meditation routine into your life :

- start by setting aside some time in your schedule to dedicate to meditate. It can be 5-10minutes to start.

- honour this time that you set aside and pair it with something you regularly do (ie. Right after your morning p*e)

- find a guided meditation voice on places like YouTube or Spotify and start with guided meditation

- set a goal (ie. I'd like to learn to relax to be able to fall asleep easier every night / I am an empath and I would like a way to rid anything that I may have picked up throughout my day / I'd like to get to know my chakras better / I would like to learn how to breathe better / I am highly anxious and I would like to learn how to manage my anxiety better / etc etc)

- the ideal position to meditate is sitting, but to start, just find a comfortable position, whether kiting down or seated

- take a breathe and dive in

- be proud of yourself for taking the first step in saying "yes I'd like to try to learn to meditate more"

In meditation, we learn about ourselves in ways we never can otherwise.

If you fall asleep the first times you meditate, this is ok. Your body is getting used to being in this hyper relaxed state. When our bodies fall asleep during meditation, it's likely that your body requires the rest. Allow the rest, and eventually, your body will be able to stay awake.
