Introducing our associate Dr. Marie-Christine Lacasse!

Dr. Marie-Christine Lacasse graduated from Laval University, Faculty of Dentistry, in 2014 and extended her studies at McGill University by completing a general practice residency. She is staying at the forefront of dental technologies and techniques by consistently exceeding the requirements for continuous education and advanced training.

Having worked in the area for multiple years, Dr. Lacasse is dedicated to providing exceptional care to the local community and is well-versed in the dental needs of our patients.

Her dedication at work and passion for patient care and well-being make her a valuable addition to our team. Outside the office, Dr. Lacasse enjoys mountain biking and hiking, often exploring new trails with her daughter, partner, and friends.

Meet Our Doctor: Dr. Nancy Clayton

Dr. Clayton created Atwell Dental Centre with one vision in mind: to provide a fantastic dental experience for the beautiful Squamish community.

Dr. Nancy Clayton’s passion for dentistry began at a young age when she underwent extensive dental surgery and orthodontics to fix her damaged teeth. Her family dentist and orthodontist transformed her smile - and her life! They inspired her to pursue dentistry and help others smile with confidence.

Dr. Clayton graduated with Honours from the University of Toronto, Faculty of Dentistry, in 1999 and completed advanced surgical training through the Dental Residency Program at VGH. She is a long-standing member of various dental study clubs and stays abreast of the latest dental technology and techniques.

> Responsibilities

• Provide preventative dental health education, preventative dental services, and perform a variety of administrative and clerical duties

• Set up instruments and dental supplies, pass instruments to the Dentist during treatments, and assist the dental staff

• Explain dental procedures, post-operative, and oral hygiene instructions

• Prepare instruments for sterilization and ensure applicable equipment is functional

• Strong organizational and multitasking skills

> About you

• Registered and/or certified as a Certified Dental Assistant with the College of Dental Surgeons of British Columbia (C.D.S.B.C)

• Certified with The National Dental Assisting Examining Board of Canada (N.D.A.E.B)

• Current cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certificate

• Knowledge of the current techniques and standards of preventive and restorative clinical practice

• Ability to work within a team environment

• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and children

• Comfortable working independently with minimal direction, problem solve, take initiative, anticipate potential problems/conflicts, and take appropriate action

• Deal tactfully and effectively with co-workers, and maintain patient confidentiality

• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

• Physical ability to perform the duties of the position

• While previous dental assisting experience is preferred, newer grads welcome to apply
