Days like today are especially hard while we are struggling to conceive.

Sending so much love your way.

Please tend to your heart by mothering yourself deeply ♥️

Fertility challenges ask a lot of us.

So much so that we have little left to give.

It is understandable that you can’t show up in your life like you once did.

There can be a mixed bag of emotions around not wanting to lose those parts of your life while literally not being able to currently be that person.

In this season, your energy is prioritized elsewhere and it is ok to not be everything that you used to be.

Tend to your heart, rest, and give yourself grace ♥️

We are 1 in 6 who faced fertility challenges in trying to grow our family.

This has been part of our story for more than a decade and while we have decided to close the chapter, it has left a deep imprint on our life.

In general, I think people are becoming more aware of how common infertility is. But…

There is still much awareness needed around how we relate to those who are struggling to conceive. Often well-meaning advice adds to further shame and overwhelm when all we want is to be heard and understood.

There is still so much awareness needed around how all consuming living life this way is. How fertility treatment and administration is a full time job on top of balancing work and maintaining relationships.

There is still so much awareness needed around the grief and scars that stay with us (even for those who are blessed enough to end up with a baby). And how this impacts our capacity to show up in our life like we once did.

Infertility changed me.

It challenged my relationship with others in my life…my husband…myself.

It nudged me in a life direction that I may not have had chosen. One of a slower and softer pace that allowed me to tend to my body, heart, and mind in a deeper and necessary way. Trying to do this at the pace I once lived would have broke me.

I’m am grateful for where I am now but I also can’t imagine l not wondering what it would have been like to give our daughter a sibling.

As someone who has lived through infertility and survived, I want you to know I see you and I understand how incredibly difficult this time of your life is.

It may feel lonely but you are not alone 💚

The psoas is a deep, central muscle that connects the legs to the spine, traveling from the upper inner thigh through the pelvis and attaching along the lumbar spine and lower rib cage. It plays an essential role in movement, posture, and our ability to fold and sit.

When we spend long periods seated, the body adapts to this shape, often resulting in a chronically shortened psoas. This can show up as discomfort in the hips, low back, or groins as the body works to bring itself upright again.

The psoas is also closely linked to the stress response. In moments of fear, worry, or uncertainty, it naturally tightens to support protective and survival-based patterns. While this is an intelligent response, challenges arise when this tension becomes habitual.

In this series, we use supported SRY postures to unwind chronic holding and create a sense of safety and inner spaciousness. As the psoas softens, many experience greater ease through the spine and hips, improved posture, and a deeper sense of grounding and support from within.

SRY incorporates supported yoga asana (postures) using yoga props and sometimes your hands and arms designed to align the body in a particular way to promote deep muscular release—especially in the pelvis and spine. Creating spaciousness in these regions fosters a greater sense of stability, helping you feel more anchored within.

While this series is also offered online via Zoom, students joining from home will need to have the necessary props available. In-studio students will receive hands-on support from Nicole, and she may step away from the camera at times to provide this assistance. For those new to the practice, Nicole recommends attending in person. All classes are recorded and available for one week after the live session.

If you have been trying to conceive for some time, you are no stranger to feeling overwhelmed with all the fertility wellness advice out there.

And while there are things that can support our reproductive health, it can be overwhelming to sort through what actually serves us best in the moment.

It can be a challenge to be discerning when all we want is to bring home a baby. But as someone who has walked this path, I know trying do to everything perfectly isn’t a sustainable way to live as our fertility challenges drag on longer than we had ever realized.

In this SRY Intuitive Heart series, we will emphasize postures, practices, and contemplations that offer space to align your head (mind) with your heart, fostering a deeper connection to what can best serve your wellbeing as you navigate your path in the upcoming months.

It is such a deeply nourishing practice while TTC.

It can be easy to default to this question when we are in a season that is largely cantered around children but I hope this brings to light how extremely hard it is for many who are struggling to grow their family.

There are so many other interesting things to ask someone that doesn’t have to do with their intentions about having kids. And if they’re struggling to conceive, a conversation about something else in their life could be a welcomed distraction 💚
