Newfoundland and Labrador (NL) Health Services reminds the public that the new Urgent Care Centre (east), located at 28 Stavanger Drive in St. John’s, is opening on 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗝𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝟭𝟮, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲. Please see additional information below, including hours of operation and how to access services, as well as general information about urgent care.

𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Unity Health Centre (28 Stavanger Drive)
𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲: Monday, January 12, 2026
𝗛𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m., seven days a week.
𝗪𝗵𝗼 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀: Children and adults with or without a primary care provider (family doctor or nurse practitioner).
𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀: Walk-in services will be offered at the urgent care centre upon opening. No referral is required to access services. Individuals will also have the option to book appointments starting on January 20, 2026. Further details on how to book appointments will be provided.

NL Health Services is offering a free, virtual Gambling Treatment Group, a supportive 11-week program for adults (aged 18+) for those struggling with gambling addiction.

The session focuses on:
✔️ Understanding gambling addiction and its impact.
✔️ Identifying strategies to reduce harm and regain control.
✔️ Building healthier coping skills and supports.

Dates: January 27 to April 14, 2026

Time: Tuesdays, 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. (Newfoundland) or 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. (Labrador)

Duration: 11 sessions

The sessions focus on:

✔️ Supporting recovery

Newfoundland and Labrador (NL) Health Services is hosting public tours at the new Urgent Care Centre (east) located at the Unity Health Centre, 28 Stavanger Drive in St. John’s. This new urgent care centre opens for patient care on Monday, January 12, 2026. Tours will be available on 𝗧𝘂𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗝𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝟲, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝟰:𝟬𝟬 𝗽.𝗺. 𝘁𝗼 𝟲:𝟬𝟬 𝗽.𝗺., starting every half hour.

NL Health Services’ staff will lead the tours and be available to answer questions about the new urgent care centre.
