October is Occupational Therapy month, and we just want to take a moment to celebrate the meaningful work our OTs do here at FIT For Work!🥳🥰

Our OTs are experts at helping people get back to the things they need and want to do—including a safe return to their careers. They adapt tasks and environments so that an injury doesn't define your future. They are one of the reasons so many of our clients are successfully managing their recovery and thriving back on the job.

Today, September 30th, is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. We pause to honour the survivors of residential schools, remember the children who never returned home, and reflect on the devastating legacy of these institutions. This is a day for listening, learning, and committing to action as we work toward true reconciliation. We encourage everyone to take time today to learn more about the history and ongoing impacts of residential schools.

Today, staff from our FIT For Work St. John’s clinic had the privilege of cooking a meal for families staying at Ronald McDonald House - a non-profit home for families with a sick or injured child who is receiving medical treatment at a nearby hospital. We were honoured to have provided this service for these deserving families and kids!

Hi everyone,

In note of the ongoing fires happening around the island, if there is anyone who is unable to make it in for their appointment in St. John's and would like to instead do them virtually, you can give us a call at 709-722-7676. If it is possible, we will make it happen!

For those coming in from out of town, the TCH is currently closed between the Foxtrap access road and the TCH/Pitts Memorial cloverleaf.

If anyone is still planning on coming in, please make sure you drive safe and stay up to date on all of the fire information/closures and give yourself plenty of time to make it in!
