💛 Postpartum Depression & Anxiety Awareness 💛

Did you know that up to 1 in 4 parents experience sadness, depression, or anxiety after the birth of a child? This is called postpartum depression and anxiety, and it’s more common than many realize.

Signs can include persistent sadness, irritability or anger, feelings of guilt or worthlessness, and feeling overwhelmed.

You don’t have to go through it alone. Lifewise Perinatal Program offers free peer support, workshops, groups, and one-on-one sessions across Newfoundland and Labrador. Our Peer Supporters have lived experience, so they understand the unique challenges of pregnancy, birth, and parenting.

📞 Perinatal Message Line: 1-709-368-0279
Leave your number; calls are anonymous, and a trained Peer Supporter will call you back.

[ID] A graphic raising awareness of postpartum depression and anxiety. The title reads, “Postpartum Depression & Anxiety: You Are Not Alone,” followed by the subtext, “Lifewise offers a Perinatal Program for New and Expecting Parents.” The graphic explains that the program provides weekly group sessions, one-on-one support, and wellness workshops, led by trained Peer Supporters, in a safe, welcoming space where participants can talk, connect, and feel heard. Attendance is completely free. The Lifewise logo appears in the top right corner. In the bottom left corner, the graphic includes the message: “To Register Perinatal Message Line: 1-709-368-0279. Leave your number; calls are anonymous and a trained Peer Supporter will call you back,” with a QR code next to it. A photo in the bottom right corner shows a tired mother seated on the floor, hand on her face, with a crib and baby items in the background.

ADHD + organization = a journey, not a destination.

Getting organized with ADHD isn’t about color-coded perfection—it’s about finding what works for your brain.

Try starting with:
✔ One small space at a time
✔ Clear, visible storage
✔ External reminders (timers, sticky notes, digital tools)
✔ Systems you can stick with on low-energy days

Keep this post handy if you struggle with getting organized while living with ADHD!

Have you ever struggled to put your feelings into words?
So have many of the people we support.

That’s why we created the Resource Emotion List, a downloadable resource that helps name and explore emotions with more clarity and care. It’s especially helpful when someone feels stuck, shut down, or simply overwhelmed by what they’re feeling.

💬 Understanding the mind-body connection is a powerful part of strengths-based support. This list can help your clients tune in, regulate, and become more aware of what’s really going on inside.

And it’s not just for clients, helpers can benefit too. After all, we’re all human and sometimes get stumped by our own emotions.

🧠 This tool is part of our Counselling Activities Workbook, filled with down-to-earth, trauma-informed resources for use in sessions and beyond.
