Being honest with ourselves is a powerful and transformative gift. It allows us the freedom to make decisions we know are best for our health and well-being, without attaching guilt or shame to our experiences. You don’t have to choose between your love for your family and the reality that you also have painful experiences and memories that make it difficult to spend so much time together. You can feel both and that is completely OK.

It's a bright and beautiful morning where I am. I'm told it's a sunny one on The Gaze as well- but sure that could change by the time I post this.

I have to take a moment to say Thank You.

I received so much support and so many warm well wishes since launching Gaze Counselling and Consulting last week. I have read every single note of kindness, encouragement, and love and I am completely overwhelmed in the best way. I was happy to see so many comments from those who share my connection with and love for The Gaze. It meant a lot for me to put a little piece of home into my practice.

I am forever grateful to have so many folks from home and away who take the time to help me celebrate the big and small moments. You're all the best kind.

Today I am excited and grateful to announce the launch of my private practice, Gaze Counselling and Consulting.

Practicing clinical counselling and owning my own private practice have been long-time goals for me. I was lucky to figure out early in life that people are my passion, and even luckier to find my path and purpose via Social Work. There is nothing more sacred than when clients share the gift of their story with me, and allow me the privilege of supporting them in their healing.

My vision is for Gaze to be a community supporting mental health and wellness across our province and beyond. If you want to come along, feel free to like, follow, and share. We are across all social media platforms.

It was important to me that my clinical practice reflect the people and places that shaped me, as well as my personal and professional values. For those of you familiar with my hometown of Ferryland, you know The Gaze well.

The Gaze is many things. A sprawling hillscape offering panoramic views, a pathway to adventure between the sea and sky, a treasured berry picking ground, a place to find a perfect (imperfect) Christmas tree, and for some of us, a familiar part of home.
