A message from the Town of Grand Falls-Windsor Accessibility Advisory Committee:

Teaching children that it’s ok to be different is crucial because early exposure to inclusion fosters acceptance and empathy towards children with disabilities, including those with invisible disabilities. This helps to create a more inclusive, welcoming, and understanding environment where all children feel valued and respected. By learning to appreciate diversity from a young age, children are better equipped to build strong, supportive relationships and contribute positively to society which creates a more inclusive and supportive community.

LDANL would like to wish everyone a Happy Easter!

We hope you get to spend time with family, friends, & maybe a little chocolate, too.

Today is World Autism Awareness Day!
LDANL would like to encourage everyone to learn more about the autism spectrum, especially in an age of misinformation online.

While LDANL specifically deals with learning disabilities & ADHD, we also have learners (& even tutors) who are on the autism spectrum. We always make sure we're aware of an individual's needs because accessibility & inclusion aren't just about ticking boxes, it's about giving each person the tools they need to thrive.

Today is Indigenous Languages Day in Canada, which is meant to celebrate the linguistic heritage of First Nations, Inuit, & Métis peoples.

Language isn't just a method of communication; it's how culture & history are transmitted between generations, as well as how those cultures & histories are able to survive.

Transgender Day of Visibility is important because to be 'visible' in society is to be recognised as worthy, to be understood, to be given empathy, to be appreciated, & so much more.

On Transgender Day of Visibility, & every other day, we see you & we are glad to be able to support you. LDANL is proud to be a welcoming, inclusive space where anybody can come to receive help to overcome their learning barriers.

A couple people who've been involved with LDANL recently spoke to CBC about their respective struggles with learning disabilities.

We are incredibly proud of them for sharing their journeys & giving voice to so many others facing similar issues not only in Newfoundland & Labrador but across the world.

If you'd like to listen, you can find the link through CBC Newfoundland Morning with Bernice Hillier and Martin Jones!
