Meet your therapist...

My name is Kim Morrissey, and I am a Registered Massage Therapist based in St. The work I do in my practice is focused on approaching the body thru myofascial release, a targeted approach that addresses fascial restric

tions throughout the body. I graduated with honours from the 2200-hour Massage Therapy program at Eastern Academy and obtained Board Certification from the College of Massage Therapists of Newfoundland and Labrador in 2021. I maintain active memberships with both the College of Massage Therapists of Newfoundland & Labrador and the Newfoundland & Labrador Massage Therapists Association. Anatomy & Physiology have always been of great interest to me; as a Massage Therapist I continually strive to further my understanding of the human body, and I am excited to share this knowledge with my clients. Barnes' Myofascial Release, Cupping Therapy, GuaSha Therapy, Seated Chair Massage, Geriatric Massage Fundamentals, and Cancer & Massage Therapy. I offer the following services:

Myofascial Release:

Myofascial Release is a highly targeted form of massage aimed at the body's fascial system: fascia is the stretchy web-like film that covers and separates every muscle, bone, nerve, artery & vein, as well as all of our internal organs. Restrictions in the fascia are often felt as tight, stiff, or vice-like. You may also feel numbness, tingling, headaches or shooting pains from trapped nerves and decreased blood flow. In time these restrictions can contribute to the development of more severe conditions like frozen shoulder, tendinitis, plantar fasciitis and knee pain. A myofascial release treatment is performed directly on the skin without oils or lotions; through gentle pressure and stretching techniques, we target areas of restriction to alleviate pain, improve flexibility, and enhance overall movement patterns. This hands-on therapy helps restore optimal function to the body, supports healing, reduces stress and promotes a greater sense of physical and emotional balance.

Therapeutic Massage:

For the treatment of a specific condition or injury, this treatment may incorporate any combination of swedish massage techniques, trigger point release, myofascial release, deep tissue, as well as the application of hydrotherapy (hot and/or cold) before, during, or after treatment. Initial treatment will usually begin with a brief assessment to allow for an individualized treatment plan.

Prenatal massage:

A specialized treatment designed to address the unique needs and changes that occur during pregnancy. It helps alleviate common discomforts such as back pain, leg cramps, and swelling while promoting relaxation and overall well-being. Using gentle, targeted techniques, a prenatal massage can improve circulation, reduce stress, and enhance sleep, all while ensuring the safety and comfort of both the mother and the baby. To enhance your comfort, we offer a prenatal cushion that provides optimal support and positioning throughout the massage, accommodating your growing belly and helping you to fully relax.
