🚧 CONSTRUCTION UPDATE 🚧
We’re officially 2 full months into construction, and the transformation is well underway!
✔️ Demolition has begun
✔️ Foundation and uneven floor issues have been fully corrected on both the main floor and upstairs
Upstairs progress:
The second floor is now framed, including:
~ 4 treatment rooms
~ A non-gendered change room
~ Locker room & bathroom
~ A relaxation area for guests waiting for or finishing treatments
Upstairs windows have been removed and are awaiting replacement — some will be permanently removed, while others will return slightly larger to take in the lake views.
Main floor updates:
Addition starting in January for extention of female and male change/locker rooms.
Framing is complete for 3 additional treatment rooms and an office space
Our entryway is being relocated and once the walls came down, it revealed there had actually been a door there years ago!
The former “window room” is preparing to become a relaxation lounge
Restaurant / Bistro windows have been removed and are awaiting replacement
The main building shingles are nearly finished, with crews taking a well-deserved Christmas break before jumping back in.
Hvila House (formerly the tackle house):
✔️ New siding
✔️ Brand new roof
✔️ Front siding will be completed once the new window arrives
✔️ This building will become Iceavik’s dedicated resting space, featuring a covered deck overlooking the water, original hardwood flooring, hammocks, and heated seating
The name Hvila comes from Old Norse and Nordic languages, meaning rest or pause a fitting reflection of how this space will be used.
The pool house power has been disconncted by NLpower, it will be the only structure torn down making room for the new sauna pavilion. The main building addition will also begin first thing in 2026.
Construction is going really well, and we’re thrilled with the progress so far.
✨ Bring on 2026 we can’t wait to see the changes ahead! ✨
