One of the pillars of healing from Emotional Overeating or Binge Eating is turning inward and getting to know those parts of us that are driving our emotional overeating cycles. Here is the thing: we all have parts that talk to us about our well-being, and all these parts of us are good. How could they be bad? They are a part of you!

Here is a classic example of an emotionally driven overeating cycle. Does this sound familiar?

A part of me is eating cake because I just received disappointing news. At the same time, another part of me says, "What are you doing? Eating the cake is not part of your wellness plan!" And we continue to eat, maybe even have a second slice. Then our inner critic enters, giving us a heavy dose of shame about what just happened. Then, the part that thinks food restriction is the answer shows up and says, "Tomorrow only vegetables, water and you must make time for a workout! The inner critic joins with the restrictive part and gives you a big bump of nasty, mean things about us being an unmotivated ass that only makes mistakes.

Biology Over Binge- Free Class
Thursday, Sept 25
7:00-8:00 PM

Come and explore the incredible interconnection of your human biology and how it can either increase or decrease food urges, cravings, food noise, and overeating binges.

When we build our biological health, stress levels decrease, food cravings subside, and our powerful urges to use food as a coping mechanism for stress in our lives become more manageable.

Come out and learn
*Brain basics, and how we are hardwired to seek pleasure when our stress levels are high.
*Blood sugar balancing strategies. What and when we eat can help build more balance in our urges to overeat.
*How the diet culture of restricting your food is creating a biological mess and increasing your cravings to overeat.
*How getting good sleep is a powerful missing piece of your struggle

ℹ️🌿 THE SMOLDERING EMBERS OF C-PTSD |

The metaphor of smoldering embers nicely depicts my experience of day-to-day life. No smoke is coming from my ears, but hiding and avoiding social experiences are efforts to control a threatening fire.

C-PTSD (Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) always smolders within my brain, and when the right outer or inner experiences are touched upon, the ever-present smoking embers burst into flame. It seems that fuel, stepping into the emotional theater with others, is all that is needed to ignite a potential flaming disaster, a psychological-emotional crisis.

I am perpetually vulnerable to a debilitating state of mind that has eluded my understanding, perplexed me, and tortured me for most of my life

On this , we're celebrating the god Ganesha, one of the most recognizable and beloved Hindu deities. 🐘

The powerful elephant-headed god known as “the remover of obstacles", Ganesha is worshipped in India and abroad, specifically during the beginning of new endeavors such as the start of the school year or a new business pursuit, in hopes of keeping the path to success clear of any obscurations that could get in the way. ✨
