Dan Hearn - Kinesiologist
Dan grew up in Pasadena, Newfoundland. From a young age, he demonstrated a strong passion for sports and athletics, spending much of his time playing and competing in any sport he could.
After high school, Dan pursued his interest in human movement and performance by completing a Bachelor of Kinesiology at Memorial University, graduating in 2015. During his undergraduate studies, he began training local high school athletes and instructing fitness classes throughout the St. John’s area, sparking his passion for athlete development and strength training.
In 2016, Dan relocated to Houston, Texas, to complete a Master’s degree in Athletic Training at the University of Houston. During his time there, he gained extensive experience working with a variety of NCAA Division I programs, including basketball, football, baseball, soccer, volleyball, track & field and golf.
During his time in Texas, Dan worked and travelled with the University of Houston men’s basketball team, a nationally recognized NCAA Division I program led by Hall of Fame coach Kelvin Sampson.
Following the completion of his Master’s degree, Dan returned home to Newfoundland in 2018 to serve as Director of Sports Performance for the St. John’s Edge of the National Basketball League of Canada (NBLC), overseeing all aspects of physical training, injury rehabilitation, and performance optimization.
Dan is passionate about helping athletes reach their full potential—physically, mentally, and professionally. His commitment to evidence-based practice and individualized care continues to drive his work in athletic performance and rehabilitation.
