Avalon is digging out after a major snowfall (reports of ~60 cm in parts of the region).
Shoveling is serious work—protect your back, shoulders, and knees with these quick tips:

☃️ Shovel Smart, Stay Injury-Free
✅ Warm up first (2–5 min): march in place, arm circles, gentle squats
🧥 Dress for layers + traction: warm, breathable layers + boots with good grip
🧤 Use the right shovel: lighter/ergonomic shovel if you have one
🧍 Posture matters: keep your feet hip-width, tighten your core, keep the load close to your body
🦵 Lift with your legs: bend at the knees/hips—not your back
🚫 Don’t twist to toss: step your feet to turn instead of twisting your spine
➡️ Push when possible: pushing snow is often easier than lifting
🕐 Pace yourself: smaller loads + frequent breaks (your body will thank you)
💧 Hydrate & listen to your body: stop if you feel dizzy, unusually short of breath, or chest discomfort

The clinic will be closed for Wednesday February 18th due to poor weather conditions. We anticipate re-opening the clinic on Thursday February 19th at 10:30am. Updates:

The clinic will be opening at 2pm today for appointments with Shi-Anne French and Laura Zwicker.

If you have an appointment today with Evan Roberts, he will be coming in for 4:30pm. Any appointments with Evan BEFORE 4:30pm are cancelled. An Admin will contact you to reschedule.

All appointments today with Mike Davis, Rebecca Doyle and Gillian Locke have been cancelled for the entire day. An Admin will contact you to reschedule your appointment.
