WORLD PANCREATIC CANCER DAY. NOVEMBER 17, 2022. Wearing purple today in honour of our beloved Dr. Bense to help raise awareness, education, support and research about this devastating disease.

We lost our founder, friend, doctor, father, visionary Dr. Michael H. Bense to pancreatic cancer in December 2017. Dr. Bense: an exceptional ophthalmologist, a brilliant mind, and a very caring and kind man. We miss his big smile, his hugs, and pat on the shoulder just when you needed it. Dr. B lived life to the fullest and cared deeply about his family and his work. He is missed every day. We are eternally grateful to have known this beautiful soul and we carry on his legacy with pride and love. 💜

PANCREATIC CANCER has the lowest survival rate of all major cancers. It is one of the most aggressive and elusive forms of cancer. Today on World Pancreatic Cancer Day we remember those who fought the disease and those who are currently fighting it. Together we can to a world where surviving pancreatic cancer is expected. On this, our NATIONAL DAY OF TRUTH AND RECONCILIATION, we honour and remember those who did not return from the residential schools they were forced into as children. Our greatest source of hope is found in listening. Listening to those who survived and lived to tell of the trauma and the tragedy. Today is a day of listening.
