Sugar, sugar, honey honey… 🍯✨
We all want glowing skin, healthy hair, and vibrant energy, but sometimes the real issue isn’t what we’re putting on our skin… it’s what we’re putting into our bodies.
A little sweetness is part of life. I’m not saying skip the occasional treat, tea, or fresh bread. Balance matters. But excess sugar over time can affect the skin, face, body, hormones, and overall wellbeing more than many people realize.
Here’s what sugar can contribute to:
• Breakdown of collagen and elastin, leading to fine lines, sagging, dullness, and crepey texture • Increased inflammation, puffiness, redness, and sensitivity • Hormonal and inflammatory breakouts, especially during stress, perimenopause, and menopause • Dehydrated skin that feels tight, flaky, oily, or less radiant
Many people notice their skin looking more swollen, tired, or reactive after periods of excess sugar or alcohol. Often, dehydrated skin needs more than moisturizer. It may also be asking for:
✨ More water ✨ Protein ✨ Healthy fats ✨ Electrolytes ✨ Better blood sugar balance
At ISC Beauty, our skincare collections are designed to restore balance, hydration, and nourishment to the skin, but healthy glowing skin is always a combination of skincare, nutrition, rest, hydration, and lifestyle.
Aging is natural and beautiful… but excess sugar can speed up the process.
I’ll be sharing more wellness and skincare tips on . If any of this resonates with you, I’d love to hear your thoughts. 🤍 XX Lisa
