The annual Collaborative Event, jointly hosted by CRNNL, CLPNNL, and NLCSW, will take place on February 3, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and the title for this year’s event is “Professional Leadership in an Ever-Changing Practice Environment.” A panel of subject-matter experts will explore what it means to lead effectively within today’s complex and collaborative health care settings. Some key topics that will be discussed include understanding regulatory/professional expectations related to leadership, supporting colleagues and students through effective preceptorship/mentorship within the health care team, demonstrating effective communication, understanding emotional intelligence and its impact within the practice setting, and managing change with confidence in order to contribute to healthy, high-functioning teams and how each of us can demonstrate leadership, no matter our role. Together, we’ll look at ways to strengthen collaboration, support one another, foster resilience, and navigate change while adhering to our professional values and regulatory expectations. On behalf of the College of Registered Nurses and the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador we extend our deepest gratitude to every first responder, firefighter, emergency worker, and volunteer who is working tirelessly to protect our lives, homes, and communities as these wildfires impact our province.
Your courage, skill, and dedication are an inspiration and we offer our sincere appreciation and support to you all.

We are grateful to the many invaluable individuals, including healthcare workers, managers, professionals, and the staff and leadership of all levels of government, who are diligently working behind the scenes to ensure the safety and well-being of Newfoundlanders and Labradorians remain at the forefront.

Our thoughts are firmly with those impacted by these devastating fires. We urge the public in affected areas to stay safe, follow the guidance, safety, and evacuation notices from official channels only, and ask that you support one another during this challenging time. Small acts of kindness and compassion can make a world of difference. Stay Safe.
