Black Bean Burger Heaven 🍔

1 can black beans
I egg
1/2 small onion
1 clove garlic
1 Tbsp nutritional yeast
2 Tbsp BBQ sauce
1 Tbsp burger spice

Mash the black bean and then combine all other ingredients and mix well than form into patties.

Heat up pan with some oil until well heated and then add burger. Cook for 5 minutes on each side. Only flip once!

Hi There Everyone!
I'd like to take a minute to thank each and every one of you for following along with us and for your support over the years.
I don't ever post personal things here but it is just me. I am the only dietitian working with NewFound Balance and I have been receiving so many emails and phone calls lately regarding appointments I wanted to take a minute to update everyone.
I had previously said I would be accepting clients again in February but our little 11 month old has even experiencing heart failure for the last 7 months. I've tried to return to work a couple times but his care is to a point now that I can't take time away and he has been admitted to the hospital multiple times and transferred to Halifax as well. So things are quite unpredictable.
He's having open heart surgery very soon and I hope that we are in a place that I can start seeing all of my wonderful people again!
I thank you for the support and understanding and I hope that I get to work with you again...or for the first time in the very near future.

I have been focusing a lot on fertility lately and one thing that keeps coming up is caffeine and fertility.

Health Canada recommends that pregnant woman drink no more than 300mg of caffeine daily and drinking more than this recommended intake can have adverse health impacts on you and particularly your baby.

A recent paper published in 2020 reviewed 48 observational studies and meta-analyses of material caffeine consumption. The results were concluded as follows:
Even an intake of 200mg of caffeine daily increased the risk of miscarriage, still birth and low birth weight.

For me this was enough that I put this into practice myself. During 2 of my pregnancies that resulted in miscarriage I consumed caffeine daily but was sure to stay under the 300 mg. In my first and current pregnancy I avoided caffeine altogether and have had the result of healthy pregnancies. I cannot say for certain that caffeine played the role and I do not blame myself. I did follow the recommendations. BUT I did want to share this information and experience with momma's who are looking to improve their fertility ❤

I decided to put together a little synopsis of ways you can increase your own energy levels without the aide of your ol faithful friend. Coffee.

For anyone trying to improve their fertility, it is recommended that you avoid caffeine. Stay tuned for more tips 🤗
