Each year, this national event celebrates the achievements of Canadians with disabilities and recognizes people and organizations that are helping make communities more accessible and inclusive.

EmpowerNL is inviting members to come hang out, listen to some music, and celebrate our National Organization, Independent Living Canada, on its 40th anniversary. We are so proud to be a part of this national organization and want to celebrate this accomplishment. We will have light refreshments and music by Randy Ring.

Learning Session on Federal and Provincial Financial Disability Benefit Programs

If you have a disability and want to learn more about the supports you may be eligible for, this session is for you.

Joby Fleming and Amanda Lush will walk through programs like the Disability Tax Credit (DTC), Canada Pension Plan Disability Benefits (CPP-D), Registered Disability Savings Plan (RDSP), Canada Disability Benefit (CDB), and Newfoundland and Labrador disability benefits. We’ll explain what they are, who can apply, and how to get started.

This is a great opportunity to ask questions and get clear, helpful information in a supportive setting.

This month Empower is offering a free information session to help you learn how to use MyChart. My Chart is a secure online account that lets you access your medical information, including your medications, care plan, test results, appointment booking, and other important information.

This session will use plain language and step-by-step demonstrations. Members of all abilities are welcome, and we will take time to answer questions.
