✨I Did it!!✨
This is the very happy face of a proud Woman who kept a commitment to her self, and succeeded!!
My strength training the last few years had ranged from spotty to non existent. When my favourite gym closed I was little lost and not consistent with anything, bought equipment that I didn’t use, and just told myself that I can’t work out at home.
Well I know how incredibly important strength training is, especially for women my age and beyond, I finally made the decision that enough was enough, and I need to commit to myself to train for myself now as well as my future.
I have the equipment and the space and no reason not to. I found a free program on YouTube to follow and used equipment I already owned, and this morning I completed a six week program lifiting weights and strength training 5days a week, Monday-Friday for 30-35minutes with no days skipped! No fanfare, no fancy workout outfits, hell sometimes in my pajamas, I got it done. I feel so happy and accomplished in achieving this goal and am feeling much better and stronger already. Turns out it can be done and I can workout from home using what I have.
I will add in some outside classes and workouts here and there but knowing I can accomplish a lot in my own home is huge. I know consistency does NOT come easy to a lot of people (me included!), so showing up for yourself just a little at a time can make a huge impact. But it’s slowly, consistently, over time.
Hope this helps anyone who needs a little boost to help with their goals for the new year! It’s a marathon not a sprint, so ease in, take your time and do what works best for you. But I needed the reminder that I can make a commitment to myself and a little each day can make a large difference in how I feel.t
