Ease back into movement and reconnect with your body through our 6-week Mom & Baby Postnatal Yoga series with Nicole, starting Thursday, October 30 at 1:15 PM.

**Note: there is currently space to join the ongoing session**

This class focuses on mom's postpartum wellness, incorporating babies into some poses to keep them engaged. We sing songs and include movements with the babies, creating a supportive environment alongside other new moms navigating the ups and downs of having a new baby.

No prior yoga experience is required. The class is designed for mothers who are at least six weeks postpartum and have received clearance for activity from their healthcare provider. If your baby is mobile, you're still welcome to join; we trust moms to use their best judgment, as they may spend time attending to their little ones during the classes.

Update: No class on Nov 11.

Our Yoga for Bigger Bodies 8-week series with Christie starts Tuesday, October 7!

If you live in a bigger body and have tried yoga before, you may have found yourself pushing, distorting, and trying to fit into a pose. You may have felt discouraged and left feeling anything but calm and empowered in your body.

Christie has experienced this first hand in her own yoga practice. After divesting from diet and toxic fitness cultures, she was lost and did not want to practice asana (postures).

Maybe you have been wanting to try yoga but feel like the way that yoga postures are portrayed through popular culture do not represent bodies like yours and does not feel inviting and inclusive.

However, there is hope and Christie is an advocate for this well-needed shift in the wellness world where we take a more accepting approach in caring for our bodies.

Christie brings both her lived experience and extensive training to this series to teach you options to help customize and take ownership of your yoga practice at home or in a group setting.

The nourishing practice of Supreme Release Yoga (SRY) offers deep rejuvenation through an internal undoing of accumulated physical, mental, and emotional tension. By doing less, we turn our awareness inward, allowing ourselves to let go, surrender, and soften the habitual gripping that comes with the body’s natural stress response.

This gentle but very deep practice is especially beneficial for people with joint hypermobility/laxity, back and/or hip pain, full and busy lives, or an overall sense of depletion.

SRY incorporates supported yoga asana (postures) using yoga props and sometimes your hands and arms designed to position the body in specific angles that encourage inner alignment and deep muscular release—especially in the pelvis and spine. Creating spaciousness in these regions fosters a greater sense of stability, helping you feel more anchored within.

While this series is also offered online via Zoom, students joining from home will need to have the necessary props available. In-studio students will receive hands-on support from Nicole, and she may step away from the camera at times to provide this assistance. For those new to the practice, Nicole recommends attending in person. All classes are recorded and available for one week after the live session.

First workshop this Sunday! Join this autumn for a gentle and grounding three-part workshop series designed to soften physical tension, calm the nervous system and support deep release and restoration.

Through the combination of self-myofascial release (SMFR) techniques and the slow, meditative practice of yin yoga, you’ll be guided through thoughtfully curated sessions that target areas of the body where stress, tension and holding patterns often accumulate.

Each two-hour session blends movement, breath, stillness and somatic awareness to support both physical release and nervous system regulation – offering a space to reset, restore and reconnect with yourself.

Whether you’re looking to relieve persistent tension, increase flexibility or simply feel better in your body, this series offers a kind and compassionate approach to whole-body wellness.

This Sunday with Cheryl Fenk - honour the Autumn Equinox with nourishing Yin and Restorative Yoga practice.

Our Yin practice invites a smoother range of motion and energy flow into the body’s connective tissues, while our Restorative practice progressively settles the nervous system into a state of deep rest. We use bolsters, blankets and blocks to build a cozy nest of support throughout.

Our time together will include breathwork, meditation and essential oils.

By tuning inward to replenish our reservoir of rest, we can experience greater harmony and ease as we transition into fall.

Suitable for all levels of practice, including beginners. Offered in-person only at Embody.
