In your treatment, she will focus on providing you with a safe, educational and therapeutic environment to maximize your recovery. Katie is an Honours Graduate of Georgian College’s Massage Therapy Program and is registered with the CMTO. She is fluent in French and English and trained in Kinesio Taping. Katie grew up outside Newmarket where she discovered horses and has been part of the horse ind
ustry for 10 years. During her studies, she gained both theoretical and hands-on learning opportunities at the public massage clinic at the college and through outreach programs. Katie has experience treating clients in long-term care and retirement homes, cancer palliative, and complex care clients including but not limited to: fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, disc herniations/bulges, carpal tunnel, Raynaud’s, and post-surgical clients including joint replacements. Katie learned how to assess, treat and provide home care while maintaining a safe, educational and therapeutic environment. She provided her clients with clarity on their treatment plans and allowed them to be part of the process of their recovery. She found that this method not only has had a great effect on her client’s treatments but also got them back to their daily activities quicker. In the public clinic, Katie improved her knowledge by researching new topics every week. This contributed to improving her overall assessment and treatment. She is driven to learn more about concussion management, supporting women through labor as an RMT doula, and delving into more research that is being published every day. Katie is so excited to be a part of Alliance Wellness Centre - Stone Town Chiropractic. She fell in love with St. Mary’s at first sight and can’t wait to meet everyone in town!
