Last year Team Hubbard Pharmacy raised $2,115.00 for the St. Marys Terry Fox run.

Today our flag was raised at Town Hall to mark Terry Fox week, starting September 7 and culminating in our annual run/walk fundraiser on Sunday, Sept. 14.

Thank you to Mayor Al Strathdee and Town of St. Marys staff for supporting the race to FINISH IT when it comes to cancer!

- September 1, 1980 - near Thunder Bay, ON

As Terry ran through intense pain, hundreds of supporters gathered along the highway cheering him on, saying, "Keep going, you can do it!" and "We're all behind you." Refusing to let anyone down, he took a break hoping the pain might subside. Terry ran another mile until he couldn't see any more people, returned to the van, and asked Doug to take him to a hospital. Terry called his parents in Port Coquitlam and told them the cancer had returned. The following day he flew home to begin further treatments. Terry had run his last mile of the Marathon of Hope.

Town Council has officially declared September 7 – 14, 2025 as Terry Fox Week in St. Marys. On September 2 at 9:30 AM, the Town of St. Marys will honor this remarkable legacy by raising the Terry Fox flag. 💙

Terry once said, “I want to set an example that will never be forgotten,” a promise he fulfilled during his Marathon of Hope 45 years ago. His relentless spirit continues to inspire people, as communities across the country raise funds each year with the shared goal of finding a cure for cancer.
